BlueData develops a software platform of EPIC (Elastic Private Instant Clusters) which uses container technology Docker for simplification and deployment of krupnomasshtabiruyemy environments, more effective in terms of expenses, for machine learning (ML) and the analysis Big Data (Big Data).

The startup has several large partners among whom — Dell EMC. Citigroup, GlaxoSmithKline, Nasdaq and  Macy’s are among clients.

History

2018: HPE purchased BlueData

At the end of November, 2018 Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) announced BlueData acquisition to accelerate development of artificial intelligence and Big Data in the products. The cost of the transaction which is going to be closed until the end of January, 2019 is not published.

HPE is going to use the container BlueData platform to help clients to increase flexibility and to reduce costs on infrastructure.

The senior vice president and the head of global division of HPE Storage and Big Data Milan Shetti says that BlueData developed the innovative and effective solution eliminating "painful points which the companies face during planning, implementation and deployment of AI/MO and tools for the analysis of Big Data".

The president and the general manager of LAN Infotech VAR company  Michael Goldstein sees in merger of BlueData an opportunity for strengthening of leadership of HPE in the market of technologies of management of Big Data using artificial intelligence and machine learning which, according to him, do the companies "more smart". According to the forecast of analysts of IDC, by 2022 the volume of the world market of AI, MO and Big Data technologies will reach $160 billion.

Goldstein considers that in connection with accession to HPE the BlueData company, most likely, will terminate the agreement under which its software was used in the Dell EMC systems.[1]
