2021: Playrix bought Boolat Games

On March 22, 2021, Playrix, founded by Russian billionaires Igor and Dmitry Bukhmani (started their business in Vologda), announced the purchase of Boolat Games. Its participants did not disclose the financial component of the transaction.

According to Forbes, citing a company message, Playrix intends to create a new studio in Ukraine on the basis of Boolat Games. By March 22, 2021, Boolat Games has 30 employees from Kiev and Poltava. In the future, the studio will expand.

Previously, Boolat and Playrix collaborated on a number of projects. In particular, in 2010, Playrix, together with the Boolat Games team, ported the game 4 Elements to PlayStation 3.

For Playrix, this is not the first Ukrainian asset: previously the Zagrava Games studio was acquired, then it also had internal studios in Kiev and Kharkov.

In the program "Business Secrets" by Oleg Tinkov in February 2021, the Buchman brothers said that they want to create the largest gaming company. Dmitry Buchman noted that Playrix has a strategy and understanding of how to grow a business through new products, mergers and acquisitions of other companies.
