The companies said they stopped negotiations on the creation of a joint venture for the production of cars and SUVs. Sollers also curtailed already launched projects with Fiat, that is, the distribution and assembly of its models in Russia. Sollers was never able to bring Fiat into the top ten most popular brands in Russia.

In 2021, the French company Groupe PSA (produces Peugeot and Citroen cars) and the Italian-American concern Fiat Chrysler Automobiles closed the merger deal, which was announced in December 2019. As a result of the merger of the two manufacturers, a new auto giant Stellantis NV was created.

According to the results of 2020, Stellantis Group became the leader in sales of commercial vehicles in Europe. In Russia, sales of cars of Stellantis brands in the LCV segment are growing steadily. With the birth of Stellantis and the expansion of the global portfolio of brands, including the Fiat Professional brand, a decision was made to localize the Fiat Scudo model intended for export at the PSMA Rus facilities.

We see the huge potential of the Russian automotive market and continue to invest in it, implementing the stages of the long-term development strategy of Stellantis in Russia and the Eurasia region with the support of the Governor of the Kaluga Region Shapsha Vladislav Valerievich and the Government of the Russian Federation. For July 2021, Stellantis is 300,000 employees, 14 automotive brands and more than 30 production sites in the world. The PSMA Rus plant is a powerful asset that we plan to use not only for the production of cars for the local market, but also to create a multi-brand export hub on its basis, capable of bringing the Russian division of Stellantis to the leaders in the supply of cars to Europe. In the next few years, we will expand the range of products, localizing the production of the Fiat Professional brand model, but already in 2021, with the increase and deployment of production capacities, we are creating 1,000 new jobs in the Kaluga region,
