Biography

2023: Appointment as CEO of Leidos Holding

At the end of February 2023, the board of directors of Leidos announced that it had chosen Thomas Bell to be the next chief executive officer of the company. He will succeed Roger Crohn, who is stepping down.

Roger Cron is chairman of Leidos. He will continue to serve as chief executive until the transition takes effect on the scheduled date of May 3, 2023.

Prior to his current role, Thomas Bell was senior vice president of global sales and marketing for defense, space and security at. Bell previously served Boeing as president in the Rolls-Royce Defense Aerospace division.

Following Roger Crohn's retirement, Leidos plans to split the two roles he once held. Leidos said its board expects to appoint Leidos' lead board director Robert Shapard as an independent, non-executive chairman after the shareholder meeting. Roger Cron, who has led Leidos as CEO since 2014, will remain as an adviser until July 2023 to facilitate a smooth transition of leadership, the company said.

Robert Shapard thanked Roger Crohn for his work leading the company and praised him for the company's growth over the years. Leidos took 19th place in the ranking of the 100 largest defense firms according to Defense News in 2022 with an income of more than $8 billion in 2021.

As of March 2023, Leidos includes services in the field of IT, engineering,, and cyber security AI technology, and machine learning also includes a list of the 500 largest companies in terms of USA revenue, compiled by Fortune magazine. For 2023, the company employs 43.9 thousand employees of the company support the vital missions of state and commercial customers.
