Biography

Born November 1, 1960 in Moscow in a family of doctors.

In 1983 graduated from the 2nd MOLGMI with honors and entered the clinical residency at the Department of Nervous Diseases 2MOLGMI.

After graduating early from graduate school and defending her Ph.D. dissertation (1988), she worked as a senior laboratory assistant (1988-1989), assistant (1989-1995), assistant professor (1995-1997) of the Department of Nervous Diseases of the Russian State Medical University (GOU VPO RSMU, previously - 2nd MOLGMI).

In 1993 defended her doctoral dissertation "Clinical and neurophysiological monitoring, metabolic therapy in the acute period of ischemic stroke," in 1994. qualified as a neurologist of the highest category, in 1999. awarded the title of professor.

The author of more than 400 scientific papers.

Since 1997 headed the department of fundamental and clinical neurology and neurosurgery of the Russian State Medical University. In 2004 elected a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences.

Since 2005. was the director of the Stroke Research Institute of the GOU VPO RSMU.

In 2008-2012 was Deputy Minister of Health and Social Development of the Russian Federation.

By Decree of the President of the Russian Federation of May 21, 2012 No. 650 was appointed Minister of Health of the Russian Federation.
