Creation of the in-game translator of SigridWave
On October 21, 2020 the Acer company provided SigridWave - the in-game translator based on AI for Planet9, the cybersports platform. SigridWave was specially created for processing of game terminology and the user slang.
SigridWave is an in-game translator based on artificial intelligence who uses technologies of deep learning to break language barriers between users worldwide and to simplify their communication. The translator is built in Planet9 platform for the PC and is loaded directly in a game lobby then functions as the configured in-game overlay. In the game SigridWave uses technology of automatic speech recognition (ASR) to reveal remarks of users and to transform them to lines of the text. Then this text is processed using technology of neural machine translation (NMT) which for October, 2020 is trained in more than 10 million bilingual couples of expressions that allows AI to understand the terminology connected with specific games (for example, "ADS" or "camping").
Context — a serious obstacle for machine translation: many words bear more than one possible value, and AI hardly defines what transfer is suitable for this situation better if it cannot process its context. AI of SigridWave was developed especially for games, and for its training about 1000 hours of game communication were used (a voice + shorthand reports) that allows the program more precisely to understand sense of messages and to adequately translate them for users.

Start of Planet9 platform

Commands also get access to group chats to share game strategy, to communicate and exchange experience.

According to the developer, Planet9 will become the platform for cyberbattles of both a small, and large format — including sponsored and official.
