CTI TVEngine Middleware

The product CTI TVEngine Middleware allows the operator to provide full range of services of interactive digital television. The solution of CTI allows to cover all range of interests of audience due to a variety of channels in the different genres offered subscribers in a standard format (SD) and in a format of the high definition (HD). Content delivered to video is protected from unauthorized access using the system of authorization and management of access to content of "Verimatrix". This beskartochny system provides protection of content against viewing from the unregistered subscribers and also excludes unauthorized copying and the subsequent distribution.

6/14/2011 the CTI company underwent certification of the solution CTI TVEngine, a hardware and software system on provision of services of IPTV. The received certificate of conformity No. OC-2-OT-0431 became official confirmation of high rates of performance and fault tolerance of this solution which is one of most innovation products in the field of IPTV in the Russian market. The received certificate gives an opportunity to accelerate the procedure of delivery of projects to state bodies of supervision and certification.

The product of CTI TVEngine company is a single platform on providing convergent services of video. The platform allows the subscriber to create personal television, to expand possibilities of communication and obtaining information using interactive services.

CTI TVEngine 3.6

At the beginning of 2012 the new version of the CTI TVEngive 3.6 platform is put on the market. it is the implemented cross-platform solution capable to provide video services to users of the operator for several screens: on pocket, desktop and wall screens of subscribers.

This solution differs in speed in convenience of work with a user interface on different devices: the prefix STB, Connected TV, mobile devices and computers, and in different data transmission mediums: cable and satellite networks, IPTV and Internet (OTT).

CTI TVEngine has advanced interactive functionality. It is a wide choice of interactive online services (cards/traffic jams, weather, online store, a photo services, etc.); an opportunity for work with social networks (Twitter, Facebook) directly from the TV screen during viewing transfer or the movie; full-fledged service VoD (video on demand), with trailers, the barker-channel, expanded data on all movies, an opportunity for the user to put down rating on the browsed movies and series. And also - advanced possibilities of promotion and advertizing – banners, media advertizing, enhanced capabilities on collecting of the user statistics.

The new version of the CTI TVEngine 3.6 platform put on the market gives the chance to operators of cable and satellite TV to provide to the subscribers additional interactive IP services. So, TVEngine is incorporated by the built-in client for cable and satellite prefixes. In addition to viewing TV of channels on DVB-S and DVB-C, the platform provides an opportunity to receive additional interactive IP services (weather, cards, news, etc.).

In 2011 as a part of CTI TVEngine there were clients for mobile devices and tablet computers (iOS, Android) and also for Connected TV (LG). The platform represents an end-to-end system for providing content on different user devices by means of the Internet. Thus, having begun to watch the movie or transfer on TV, the user can switch at any time viewing having continued to look on the mobile device or on the contrary.

Let's note that at the end of 2011 the total number of subscribers of IPTV in Russia who receive services of paid interactive TV using the CTI TVEngine platform made 100,000 people. Their number will only grow. It is quite explainable: operators select the CTI TVEngine platform thanks to its unique opportunities.

CTI TVEngine 3.4

Key feature of the new version is modification of a control interface which is directed to increase in convenience and quality of entertainments to users of IPTV.

Version 3.4 of a software platform of CTI TVEngine includes a number of the features considerably improving convenience of use of an IPTV system. The brightest of them are:

• 1. Home screen. Visual representation of the channels selected by the user and posters of film new products for service of Video on demand. Now the user can see on one screen what happens on favourite canals. The home screen is configured on button 0. An order of windows of TV channels it is possible the user can independently create, these settings are saved for each profile got by users of a household taking into account parent control.

An upper row executes a poster role, offering the most popular, among the total number of users, movies. At activation of the poster there is a demonstration of a video about the movie which can be ordered at once for viewing in the next 24 or 48 hours.

In the left average window KINOVIA information entertainment channel *, productions of CTI company, recommending popular videos by request is shown.

• 2. Advanced representation of video content which provides to users the maximum convenience:
  • • the detailed description of movies with a user-friendly interface for work with information;
  • • large covers of movies;
  • • the list of actors according to each movie;
  • • additional information materials and video to movies;
  • • cross-references between all elements of the description of content.

• 3. The improved system of the offer and promotion of video on demand. The user can easily study recommendations and the additional information of the movie as to the order, and later. Service of a subscription for video on demand is also implemented: the user subscribes for unlimited access to popular TV series or packets of movies during calendar month.

In adding to the existing systems, in the new version of TVEngine the SNMP system of monitoring of all components of the IPTV solution provided by CTI company that allows to service a system with higher quality is significantly expanded. For the purpose of increase in flexibility in work of operators, the augmented list of the set-top boxes supported by CTI TVEngine.

The CTI company in November, 2011 presented to the market of telecommunication services the updated solution for broadcasting of a streaming video on mobile devices. The universal solution allows to use the CTI TVEngine platform as uniform base for providing video services on a number of mobile devices running operating systems iOS and Android.

Situation in the market of video services now, in many respects, the keen interest of users in the interactive video services available "on the run" – on the way defines, houses, on a visit, etc. This trend is a consequence of increase in geography of access and volumes of consumption of Internet traffic from mobile devices and, respectively, content from these devices. These criteria caused need of presence at operators of offers on providing video services for mobile devices.

The main objective of the solution, on the basis of the CTI TVEngine platform, consists in providing to those who specialize in content distribution and that who consumes it, the broadest set of interactive services from the maximum range of popular user devices, by the principle of "any screen any where". At the same time, the compulsory provision for distributors of content is its legal distribution therefore content is provided by the CTI TVEngine platform on mobile devices in encrypted form using the integrated DRM system.

• possibility of switching of watching video "on the fly" from one device on another. For example, it is possible to look at the beginning of the movie on a TV screen, and to continue viewing from the same place already on the tablet computer;
