2007: Announcement of the Force.com platform

The company calls it "the platform in the form of service" (platform as a service). Except use of a number of the ready elements created in Salesforce.com which can be towed like desktop miniapplications of widgets in Force.com it is possible to write and edit the code on HTML, JavaScript and Adobe Flex. Applications can have any appearance. They can be placed as on own hostings, it is so free on the Salesforce.com servers.

According to specialists of Salesforce.com, from the Java-like Apex programming language which appeared at the company in 2006, Force.com differs in the fact that it is more focused on creation of user interfaces, but not development of business logic. As declare in Salesforce.com, suppliers of already existing Web applications with ease transfer their interface part to Force.com whereas with logic the situation is more difficult.

2013: Salesforce1 will replace Force.com

Salesforce1 is the new platform of development of systems of CRM integrated with social media and mobile devices.

On November 19, 2013 the Salesforce.com company submitted the new platform for development of CRM systems.

The new platform has 10 times more programming interfaces, additional components for creation of interfaces of users appeared. As a part of Salesforce1 a number of new mobile applications. One of them provides access to all Salesforce.com applications at once.

Applications connection and third-party services, such as Dropbox, Evernote and LinkedIn is allowed.

One more is intended for system administrators - it allows to change far off passwords, to deactivate accounts, to receive notifications on the planned technical works on Salesforce.com.

A number of important components as a part of the Salesforce1 — AppExchange platform (app store, created based on Force.com), Communities and Chatter (the environment of support of social calculations), Identity (security and single authorization), building tools, the SDK sets and API libraries for creation mobile, Web and service - the focused applications.

The basic moment - all proposals of salesforce.com are available only in the form of cloud services.
