In the summer, when cold desserts acquire particular relevance, we want to be closer to the consumer, "said Maher Batruni, president of Mars LLC, general director of Mars Wrigley in Russia, commenting on the beginning of the production of ice cream under the Korkunov brand.

Such products will be sold in Metro, Eurospar and Red and White networks, at Gazpromneft gas stations in Moscow and St. Petersburg, as well as in traditional retail in a number of regions of Russia.

The Korkunov brand appeared on the ice cream market

Ice cream is produced at a factory in Poland. It includes natural chocolate "Korkunov" with a cocoa content of 54%, chocolate sauce and hazelnuts. It is claimed that this dessert food product is produced without dyes, preservatives and milk fat substitutes. A limited collection of ice cream in two tastes will be available to consumers: with a chocolate layer and hazelnuts and Double Chocolate. In total, 1.6 million portions of ice cream will go on sale.

According to Maher Batruni, in 2020, Mars began production in Russia of buckets and serving ice cream under the brands Snickers and Mars, and in 2021 they decided to release a "premium novelty" - Korkunov ice cream.

Mars Wrigley has been producing products under the Korkunov brand since 2007 after the company bought the Odintsovo Confectionery Factory from Andrei Korkunov. The Mars brand portfolio includes M&M's, Snickers, Orbit, Twix, Uncle Ben's, Dolmio, as well as Whiskas, Royal Canal, Sheba, etc.

According to Rosstat, ice cream production in Russia in 2020 increased by 10% compared to 2019 and reached 449,702 tons. The largest amount of ice cream is produced in the Central Federal District (111,213 tons or 25% of the total production). The smallest amount of ice cream was produced in the Far Eastern Federal District (8,558 tons, 2% of the total production).[1]
