2022: Entering the full-control robotic pizza market without humans

In early June 2022, robotic pizzerias were released with full control without humans. Manufactured by Illinois-based Nala Robotics, the Pizzaiola system is a self-contained kitchen measuring 3.7x3.7m that includes food storage and preparation areas, a furnace and seven axial robotic arms that move throughout the space. Customers can order orally through a nearby self-service kiosk or through a human cashier who electronically transfers orders to the kitchen.

The order can be made via the Internet with home delivery - robots are already performing this task. In any case, the robot chooses one of four types of dough, four sauces, 35 cheeses and other fillings. The device then presses the dough, adds the sauce and filling, then cooks, slices and packs the pizza. The robot can cook up to 50 pizzas per hour, measuring 8, 10, 12, 14, 16 or 18 inches, according to Nala Robotics.

Business owners can add other cooking stations, along with devices such as a grill or fryer. It is possible to train Pizzaiola's machine learning-based operating system to cook dishes such as burgers, fries, wings, pasta and salads. According to the developer's company, so that the robot does not cook, it checks more than 1.2 thousand food quality and safety parameters every microsecond. Leasing packages for Pizzaiola start at $7,000 per month.

The COVID-19 pandemic is still an integral part of everyday life, forcing restaurateurs and customers to look for contactless ways to cook and deliver food. Since Pazzi uses robots at all stages of pizza preparation and sale, Nala Robotics does not need to hire and train staff, but accordingly make more profit.[1]
