2019: The presentation of TVs of Mi TV 5 and Mi TV of 5 Pro with screens on "quantum points"

The Xiaomi company showed on November 5, 2019 TVs of a line of Mi TV 5 with screens on "quantum points". The premiere took place in China and TV prices for local market are announced – against the background of competitors of Mi TV 5 were much cheaper.

In total Xiaomi showed two series of TVs – together with Mi TV of 5 Pro debuted also the normal Mi TV 5 representing, in fact, descendants of models of a line of Mi TV 4 which are on sale in Russia. There are no "Quantum points" in them therefore it is just high-quality and available TVs with the IPS 4K-panels.

The start of sales of Xiaomi TV in the territory of the People's Republic of China will take place until the end of November, 2019. The basic line includes models on 55 inches (3000 yuans, about 27 thousand rubles at the rate of the Central Bank for November 5, 2019), 65 inches (4000 yuans, about 36 thousand rubles) and 75 inches worth 8000 yuans (72 thousand rubles).

The prices of 4K-TVs of Samsung with the diagonal of 55 inches begin in Russia with 42 thousand rubles (NU7090 Series 7, the UE55NU7090UXRU index).

TVs of Mi TV 5 Pro on "quantum points" will be considerably more expensive: 55 inches cost 3700 yuans (33.5 thousand rubles) of 65 inches – 5000 yuans (45 thousand rubles), 75 inches – 10 thousand yuans (90 thousand rubles). For comparison, the most available 75-inch QLED TV of Samsung in the Russian retail costs 210 thousand rubles (the Q60R model, the QE75Q60RAUXRU index), and the cheapest 55-inch – 95 thousand rubles (Q67R QE55Q67RAUXRU). The cost and date of a premiere of Mi TV 5 in Russia are unknown.

Possibilities of Xiaomi QLED

TVs of Xiaomi Mi TV 5 Pro, as well as it was known prior to a premiere, received the updated design with the superthin body (5.1 mm, are less than thickness of 8-millimeter Apple iPhone 11 Pro) and a framework of the screen of the minimum thickness (1.8 millimeters, are 47% thinner, than in Mi TV 4). External blocks as in interior Mi Art, for them are not provided – all "iron" is hidden directly behind the display. The TV body is executed of aluminum.

Displays of TVs of Mi TV 5 Pro, regardless of the selected diagonal, support resolution of Ultra HD or 4K (3840x2160 pixels), the HDR and HDR 10+ modes and also have 178 viewing angles and cover 108% of the NTSC color space. It should have a positive impact on quality of a color rendition, and the general high image quality is provided by MEMS technology.

All line of Mi TV of 5 Pro is delivered from 4 GB of RAM and the built-in drive on 64 GB, and the T972 processor of production of Amlogic company which specializes in release of chips for many modern smart TV and also for Set-top boxes is responsible for high-speed performance in them. T972 is made on rather modern 12-nanometer technical process and contains four cores of Cortex A55 with a frequency of 1.9 GHz and the dual core video card Mali G72 MP2, and its performance is enough for processing of 8K-video.

The software is submitted by a corporate firmware of Xiaomi here – PatchWall of version 2.0 which is strongly modified by Android TV with all its opportunities. For improvement of a sound in TVs support of DTS HD Sound and Dolby Audio technologies is provided, and the sound is brought to the quartet of loudspeakers with a power of 8 W everyone.

The list of interfaces, wire and wireless, includes two USB ports, three HDMI, the Ethernet-connector, S/PDIF, Wi-Fi of 802.11 ac (2.4/5 GHz) and Bluetooth.

Differences of a younger line

TVs of Mi TV 5 externally have no differences from the senior Mi TV of 5 Pro, but internal distinctions nevertheless are. First of all, this TV has no "quantum points" – the classical matrix of IPS of format 4K is used. In addition, they got much less memory – 32 GB of the built-in and 3 GB operational.

One more difference consists in the number of loudspeakers which here two. In respect of other specifications of Mi TV 5 and Mi TV of 5 Pro are identical, up to model of the processor and the number of interfaces. ^[1]
