2019: The organization of a mobile tournament on knowledge of the Arab soccer based on MyQuiz service

At the end of 2019 in Qatar there passed the 24th Cup of the nations of the Persian Gulf on soccer (24th Arabian Gulf Cup). The national teams of eight countries met at the Khalifa International Stadium, Abdullah Bin Khalifa Stadium and Al Janoub Stadium containing 48 thousand, 12 thousand and 40 thousand viewers respectively. Announced this Microsoft Rus on January 17, 2020.

Each of 15 matches of a tournament was followed by a sports quiz. The sponsor of the Cup of the Gulf — Vodafone, one of cellular operators became the organizer of a series of kviz of 'Fan of the Match'. The company offered visitors of a tournament in breaks between times to check the knowledge in the field of the Arab soccer and to battle for a prize — iPhone 11. As the platform for holding quizzes the Russian web service MyQuiz, development of WaveAccess company was selected.

Players needed to follow only the link specified on screens of stadium from mobile devices and to answer five questions. At determination of the winner both the correctness, and speed of answers was estimated. The passion to a game was added by the broadcast rating of leaders. Total number of participants of draws was more than 13,000 people.

Thanks to a cloud of Microsoft Azure and examination of WaveAccess in the development area of web applications, myQuiz became the tool for a communication landscape. The platform integrates users a fascinating game and access to knowledge, and business allows to tell in an uncommon form of itself and to receive a live feedback from audience as online, and on offline - events of any scale. Thanks to the myQuiz event-interface of a quiz are available on screens of big permission, projectors and media cubes in any premises.

Microsoft Azure and.NET technologies play a key role in reliability assurance, availability, high-speed performance and scalability of a game: so, the small quiz on 10 friends can be turned into an action for tens of thousands of players in a few minutes. Resistance to high loads — result of a combination of Azure Queue and Azure Redis.

myQuiz is available in the browser and does not require installation of the application. Participants can join a game from any place in the world from the smartphones, tablets, notebooks and the PC — only the Internet is necessary.
