Orange Business Services connected the Norwegian golf Haga Golf club to Internet of Things

2019: Implementation of IoT Connect Anywhere

On October 29, 2019 it became known that the Haga Golf company selected Orange Business Services for process optimization of service of the golf course. The IoT-solution Orange will cardinally change approach to expensive and labor-consuming service of a sports lawn and will help to provide optimal conditions for a game during the whole season.

Support of good condition of a green covering — a difficult task for many golf clubs of Northern Europe. Changeable weather turns care of a lawn and preserving of a grass covering into cold winters in really difficult task. Throughout a season priorities in service of the golf course change. So, for example, during the summer period an important role is played by monitoring of humidity of the soil for safe irrigation, temperature in order to avoid burning out of a lawn and also conductivity as level meter of fertilizers. It is more important to grinkiper to control the necessary saturation level of the soil oxygen in the winter.

The Haga company selected for optimization of works on service of the playground of IoT Connect Anywhere – the solution of Orange for connection of smart objects to LPWA network on the basis of the open standard of communication LoRa. IoT Connect Anywhere provides scalable end-to-end and safe connection of the sensors installed in the field to the platform of analytics Live Objects turning the raw data into evident information on a status of a grass and the soil in the field. The autonomous system of sensors of monitoring from Orange will help grinkiper of golf club to trace and analyze changes of weather conditions to save a grass covering in excellent condition.
