On May 6, 2019 it became known of use a solution blockchain by PepsiCo company. Thanks to the project Project Proton the producer of carbonated drinks could increase advertizing efficiency by 28%.

PepsiCo implemented the Zilliqa blockchain platform by means of Mindshare mediagentstvo. "Smart" contracts which are designed to improve so-called algorithmic sales of advertizing were involved. They help to increase efficiency of digital trade and more flexibly to use data, provide more effective management of a scope and frequency, targeting on small audiences and the improved management of demonstration as in fact the audience, but not specific locations is bought.

"Smart" contracts of Zilliqa allowed PepsiCo to approve the advertizing demonstrations received from several sources with payments by means of a token of Native Alliance Token (NAT) almost in real time. It increases efficiency of advertizing and provides transparency of processes for the producer.

According to project participants, ensuring transparency at simultaneous automation on the basis of methods of visible verification is a main goal of Project Proton. It means that advertisers pay for declarations only in conditions when they are considered as available to viewing, safe for a brand and free from fraud.

PepsiCo uses a blockchain system in the Pacific Rim since March, 2019. Results of the first stage of the project are considered successful, and in May the company started a new phase within which the system of carrying out payments for benefit of the agencies and platforms placing advertizing is connected to the platform. Besides, the quantity of indicators on which marketing operations are automated extends.[1]
