Surveillance cameras of Rostelecom participated in a rehearsal of the ballet "Swan lake"

2020: Control of movements of ballet dancers

More than three hundred movements of dancers of the ballet counted smart cameras of house video surveillance of Rostelecom during execution of a variation from the well-known ballet "Swan lake". Participation in an experiment which took place on the stage of the Ekaterinburg theater "Urals Opera Ballet" was accepted by the leading soloists of ballet troupe Elena Sharipova, Arsenty Lazarev and Mikey Nisiguti. Rostelecom reported about it on December 10, 2020.

On the stage of theater during a rehearsal three HD cameras of Rostelecom were installed: one was directed to actors on the right, the second — at the left, the third made a plan vista scenes. During execution of a variation from "The swan lake" the most large number of movements lasting 50 seconds of the camera was recorded at Elena Sharipova: on the right — 145, at the left — 123, and the central camera in total counted 200 movements. Arsenty Lazarev for the same time in the amount made about 60 waves and jumps, and showed to Mikey Nisiguti a variation with legendary fouettés, having made 95 movements. The experiment proved that surveillance cameras of Rostelecom are capable to recognize the slightest movement and at once to warn about it its owner.

On average the ballet rehearsal in Urals Opera Ballet theater lasts 60 minutes. By means of a video surveillance system of Rostelecom it was succeeded to count that for all process each dancer makes nearly 12 thousand movements and spends about 350-450 kilocalories. It is equivalent to hard manual labor, for example, when unloading the railway car.

I many years in this profession and long ago got used to hours-long rehearsals and performances. All our movements should be technically correct and at the same time to be a single whole with music. When you watch dance on the stage, from outside it seems that everything comes easily. Actually any wave a leg or classical fouettés are an enormous work. But, frankly speaking, I never thought of that how much we should make movements — digits which we learned, are really amazing — Elena Sharipova shared the impressions.
