The IBS company develops new cloud infrastructure

IBS begins the project of deployment in the company of new cloud computing infrastructure based on the equipment of HP BladeSystem Matrix.

Solution

The decision on upgrade of IT infrastructure of IBS is made proceeding from two main premises characteristic of most the medium-sized and large Russian enterprises. First, it is the significant changes in technologies and the principles of creation of effective IT infrastructures which occurred for the last 3-5 years. Secondly, physical wear of the existing equipment in connection with insufficient funding of IT sector and increase in lives of the equipment during crisis.

Expectations

According to plans of the company, all applied information systems (in total more than 100) will be transferred to a private cloud, and old infrastructure will be completely contracted. In a project deliverable the company expects to cut down IT infrastructure operating expenses for 25%, in particular, approximately by one and a half times the number of service staff will be reduced.

The total amount of investments into the project was about $2 million dollars.

Fixing

Now on IT infrastructure of the company IBS more than 100 applied systems providing business processes of the company are unrolled. In particular, complex of solutions SAP (ERP BI SAP CRM HCM), project management system and resources, e-mail servers, internal portals, file servers. Reliable work of IT infrastructure is an important factor of successful work and development of the company.

Hopes

In IBS expect that thanks to migration of corporate applications in a cloud, it will be possible to achieve substantial increase of reliability of functioning of infrastructure, to implement transition to new versions of the consumer software in workplaces and to achieve decrease in operating costs. In the long term it is supposed to receive significant reduction of the IT budget at steadily high quality of work of all IT infrastructure.

Reality

At the moment works on installation of a hardware-software part of the solution and development of technical specifications for testing and also migration of the applied systems come to an end. Start of new IT infrastructure in operation is planned for August, 2011.

The project is implemented by forces of specialists of department of information technologies and department of system solutions of the company IBS, the companies HP, IBS Platformix and IBS Datafort.

Opinion

Sergey Matsotsky, the CEO of IBS company, commenting on the project, noted: "We analyzed a situation and understood that it is better not to try to reanimate the existing IT infrastructure, and to construct in the company new infrastructure according to the modern standards "from scratch". I am sure that for many Russian companies results of the similar analysis would be similar, and our experience would be useful to them".
