Digia begins the project in the field of mobile applications for Alfa-Bank

The Digia RUS, the Russian representative office of Digia, the Finnish system integrator and software developer, announced in June, 2011 the beginning of the project for Alfa-Bank. Within the project specialists of Digia will create the solution allowing to use Alfa-Mobayl service on smartphones under control of Symbian.

Alfa-Bank is the largest Russian private bank which uses advanced technologies for increase in convenience and availability of the financial services. The service of "Alfa-Mobile" allows clients of bank to manage the accounts from the mobile phone, to find the next ATMs and bank departments, browsing their location on the card, to pay different services, to make remittances and to obtain the additional information about currency rates, operating time of departments, the provided services, etc.

Today users of different mobile devices including on platforms can download the application of "Alfa-Mobile" free of charge iOS and Android. The project implemented by specialists of Digia will make service available to those who give preference to Symbian^3.

Despite the recent official statement of Nokia about strategic partnership with Microsoft and transition of mobile devices to the Windows Phone operating system, the company does not refuse Symbian, continuing support and development of the platform. Only in 2011 Nokia is going to produce more than 10 models of devices based on Symbian. In the official press release Nokia stated that it is going to implement 150 million Symbian-devices.

"In Russia the Nokia phones enjoy wide popularity. According to our statistics: every fifth client of Alfa-Bank has phone with Symbian OS. Therefore we initiated the project on application creation of "Alfa-Mobile" for Symbian-devices, aiming to make the services available to all the clients what phone they would not prefer. The tender for creation of the corresponding application was won by the Digia company known in international market as one of leaders in the field of creation mobile and web applications for different types of devices on the Symbian, Android and IOS platforms.
