JSC Transneft equipped with GLONASS sensors more than 17 thousand pieces of equipment

"NIS GLONASS" signed the contract with "JSC Transneft on creation of a monitoring system of motor transport which assumes within three years equipment by telematic terminals of 21 thousand cars in 22 divisions of the company in the territory of Russia from the Far East to the Baltic Sea.

The contract provides creation of specialized infrastructure within the existing corporate computer network and equipment of 37 failsafe centers of monitoring of transport in the child organizations "JSC Transneft. Navigation and coherent complexes will be established practically on all park of the equipment in the system of the company. For work in remote areas where cellular transmission networks are unavailable, the system of information storage is provided.

"Equipment by the telematic equipment based on GLONASS will allow to reduce significantly costs for fuel and lubricants, to optimize transport routes, to provide control of use of the equipment at all operational phases", - the representative "told JSC Transneft Igor Dyomin.

"Need of simultaneous management of large-scale freight transportation and the special equipment requires serious approach to the organization of transport logistics. Application of modern navigation solutions based on GLONASS technology will allow to build effective work of many thousands vehicle fleet", - the CEO of NIS GLONASS Alexander Gurko said.

More than 1000 vehicles, including the specialized equipment, are already equipped with the navigation equipment allowing to control also operation of other equipment installed on the car (for example, crane slope angle).

Everything, within the contract of Transneft with the federal network operator of NIS GLONASS with the telematic equipment it will be equipped 21 thousand cars in 37 divisions of the company.

Also two failsafe data processing centers in Moscow and Omsk for ensuring smooth operation of a system will be created.

Transneft and "NIS" began to implement the joint project on creation of a monitoring system of transport on the basis of GLONASS technologies in 2011 during which 6681 vehicles of Transneft were equipped. During 2012 5400 units of transport will be equipped. For the entire period of project implementation of "NIS" with "JSC Transneft (till December, 2013) an aircraft equipment will equip 21,000 vehicles in 37 divisions of the company.

Within the project specialized information and navigation infrastructure on the basis of the existing corporate computer network of Transneft is unrolled. Two failsafe data processing centers with the general storage system in Moscow and Omsk for smooth operation of a system were started.

To summer of 2013 the NIS company equipped with the equipment on the basis of GLONASS 14,939 units of vehicles and special equipment of JSC Transneft, created infrastructure for processing of the obtained information and control of transport in 728 points of scheduling in all territory of the Russian Federation. Until the end of 2013 the company will equip 4510 more cars of JSC Transneft.

System implementation of monitoring and connection of transport of vehicle fleet of JSC Transneft to it allowed to define location of vehicles, to control fuel consumption (in 2012 the volume of fuel consumption decreased by 16 thousand tone, for the first half of the year 2013 – by 5.2 thousand tons), to monitor technical condition of cars and special equipment.

2013: Project Results

On January 16, 2014 it became known - in December, 2013 the Navigation-Information Systems company completed equipment of vehicle fleet "JSC Transneft the equipment of GLONASS and control of fuel.

Within the project "JSC Transneft the first automated system conforming to requirements of orders of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation No. 285 of 7/31/2012 "About the approval of requirements to the navigation aids functioning using navigation signals of a system GLONASS GLONASSGPS or / and intended for obligatory equipment of the vehicles of category M used for commercial transportations of passengers and the categories N used for transportation of dangerous loads" and No. 36 of 2/13/2013 "About the approval of requirements to the tachographs installed on vehicles, categories and types of the vehicles equipped by tachographs, rules of use, service and control of operation of the tachographs installed on vehicles" is created.

During the period from 2011 to 2013 more than 17.5 thousand vehicles and the special equipment in 36 subsidiaries of the company are equipped.

In 2014 the contractor should equip in addition 4700 units of vehicles, including fuel trucks, mobile units and special equipment, with sensors of control of the hinged equipment.
