History

2023: Agreement with SberEducation to create digital educational programs

SberEducation and the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia entered into a strategic partnership agreement. The document was signed by the director of the center of the education industry of Sberbank Natalya Zhuravleva and the first vice-rector, vice-rector for educational activities of RUDN Yulia Ebzeeva. Sberbank announced this on February 9, 2023.

The parties will work together to create educational programs, including the introduction and development of digital learning technologies. Along with the high quality of education, the collaboration of SberEducation and RUDN University will ensure personalization, building individual trajectories and the availability of an educational product. It is planned that one of the most important areas of work will be the creation of educational models and remote technologies, including using artificial intelligence. The parties will conduct joint educational programs in a network format, this will help mass training of personnel for the digital economy.

1960: Foundation of the University

Peoples' Friendship University was founded on February 5, 1960 by the decision of the USSR Government. On February 22, 1961, the University was named after Patrice Lumumba, one of the symbols of the struggle of the peoples of Africa for independence.
