DPC of Yandex in Tula region

Vladimir Gruzdev is the new governor of Tula region who took this place in August, 2011, promised to attract a large number of large investors to development of the region. And "Yandex" which will construct the latest data processing center in the area should become the first of such investors.

During the press conference in a sentyaber of 2011, the governor announced the present journalists that all investors who are available at the moment, unfortunately, make the investments in reconstruction of the existing enterprises. At the same time there are no new investors and, therefore, new objects in the area.

However works on attraction to Tula region of investors are already conducted, several important steps in this direction are taken, Gruzdev noted. In particular, one of IT Yandex Companies, largest in Russia, can construct in the region the data center soon. But there is also a number of problems which not only slow down process of arrival of investors, but also even disturb it.

The press service of "Yandex" frostily comments on the words of the governor, noting at the same time that they always attentively study all opportunities and do not share details of the plans with the general public.

On August 19, 2011, there was the largest failure in work of services of "Yandex" because of problems in its Amsterdam data center. In particular, even the homepage of the searcher was unavailable that demonstrates the serious nature of accident. As representatives of the company said, failure was provoked by a router error which led to a critical overload of memory of internal routing protocols and, therefore, caused unavailability of all services of "Yandex". The version about a problem with the general functioning of data processing centers, fortunately, was not confirmed.
