Autodesk Vault Professional (the former name — Autodesk Vault Manufacturing) — a management system for design data for the companies of the sphere of mechanical engineering with expanded with opportunities for work with the data necessary for production and the subsequent stages of product lifecycle.
Autodesk Vault Professional 2013 — is intended for safe storage of engineering data, project information and documentation and also for management by them. Application of this product accelerates a design cycle.
The solution helps design and production departments to work with closer contact, communicating about digital prototypes of products. Project collectives receive necessary tools for change tracking, management of specifications and also for the organization of joint work on early blueprint stages by integration with production business systems.

Integration with a new CAD
In Autodesk Vault integration with a CAD of Autodesk company was always provided. Vault 2013 gives opportunities of direct integration with even more wide range of the products based on technology of digital prototypes – from products for engineering calculations and the analysis to the systems of industrial design. Support of project lifecycle
The new category of folders - "Lifecycle Schemes" is added to Vault 2013. She helps engineers to achieve higher level of control and security by transfer of products to production. In addition to opportunities of tracking of the status of separate files, now the product allows to control the project as whole.
The optimized PDM processes
In Autodesk Vault 2013 the set of proposals of users is implemented, and elements of the interface took a new form. In the Open and Place dialog box the configured structure thanks to which began to look for and display the necessary files quicker and easier is displayed. Support of standard workflows of Inventor relating to management of drawings, parametrical parts and nodes and also the detail level provides the increased control level during the work in Autodesk® Inventor®. Users can add the accompanying files to Vault storage now. In Vault there is a possibility of automatic search and adding of the connected project files (for example .idw, .dwg and .ipn) when entering new models in storage.
Integration into Microsoft SharePoint
Microsoft and Autodesk achieved a high integration scale of the latest technologies implemented in a system for joint work to Microsoft SharePoint and a data management system about the products Autodesk Vault. Thanks to it the reliable communication between design groups and other divisions of the enterprise is provided. Use of usual procedures of SharePoint for data access in storage simplifies business, content management, search and exchange of it both on local, and on a global network.
User objects
Autodesk Vault Professional 2013 allows to describe objects in which information, unique for business processes, – for example the information about contact persons, documentation kits, tasks of management of lifecycle, etc. is stored. In Vault the new concept of the security levels allowing to create the user objects and to manage them is implemented. In schemes of lifecycle categories, properties and security settings of objects are set.

Means of replication in Autodesk Vault 2013 considerably increase high-speed performance and simplify sharing of data project teams. More process of their request of different locations became result of optimization of procedures of ownership of data. The likeness of processes of replication made possible installation of priorities according to which the server performs search of replicable data that minimizes delays in network connections.
