Budgets in 2012 will rise security

Costs for IT security in 2012 will continue to grow. Solutions of protection against date leaks on production enjoy the greatest popularity.

For more than thirds (37%) of specialists in information security among all tasks are in the first place questions of compliance to regulatory requirements of the enterprises, protection of mobile devices and data loss prevention. At the same time only 16% of the companies assume that costs on security will be reduced: the others are going to increase budgets by cybersecurity.

Such outputs are received as a result of the research published on November 15, 2011 by TheInfoPro research company. According to data retrieveds, the predicted growth of expenses on security in 2012 will not exceed the expense level of 2011. This year 39% of the enterprises increased the expenses in comparison with 2010 while 15% announced their decrease.

Daniel Kennedy, the director of research of information security of TheInfoPro noted that the expense level on information security in 2011 remains very thorough, and is similar, like that will be also in 2012. According to him, the reasons are obvious: the continuing date leaks, need to provide protection of virtualization and cloud environments and also reduction of personal mobile devices of employees in compliance to the security requirements existing at the enterprises.

Proving expenditure of means in 2011 respondents said that the most part of the increased costs was made on products of intrusion detection systems (IDS) from vendors of Sourcefire and McAfee. Within the research of respondents asked to call also "the most effective in their opinion products of protection and services of security".

On list top respondents placed Palo Alto Networks (20%), it is followed by solution provider of detection of threats FireEye (10%). At this list from 10 companies there are also other world-class vendors: EMC, Symantec, McAfee, Intel, Juniper Networks, Check Point and Trend Micro. This list included also service of management of identification in "cloud" Ping Identity and service of two-factor authentication PhoneFactor.

Considerable part of the polled specialists is going to invest in 2012 in firewalls. 28% of the companies planning deployment of these tools, according to them, will use or technologies Palo Alto Networks or Check Point.

On a first line of creation of protection against spam and anti-virus solutions there are venerable companies. The research showed - old leaders continue to keep the market under control with shares: Symantec - 39%, McAfee - 34%, Trend Micro of-15%, Sophos - 5% and Microsoft - 2%.

Also the research revealed growth of popularity of technologies of data loss prevention (DLP). Poll showed that about 23% of the enterprises use the network solutions DLP, and 20% are going to implement them in the next 18 months. Most the companies buy the network solutions DLP from Symantec, it in popularity is followed by Cisco, McAfee, EMC, Forcepoint (before Websense) and Proofpoint.

In workplaces of users within 18 months 27% of the companies are going to carry out the software installation of protection against information leaks, and 21% of the enterprises already use such technology. At the same time buyers prefer to postpone protection of jobs for the implementing solutions DLP for the PC of users. In particular, most of respondents use technologies of Symantec, McAfee, Sophos, Websense and EMC.
