Mobile payment terminal
Since January 9, 2012 PrivatBank started through the Russian departments of sale of mobile payment terminals — miniature devices using which anyone has an opportunity to accept for payment bank cards of Visa/MasterCard, using the smartphone, the tablet or the computer[1].
Practical importance
- The technology fundamentally expands the market of cashless payments and simplifies acquiring technologies.
- It is possible to be calculated a card anywhere — in the taxi, at the notary, in the market, in the booth, for lease of the apartment — everywhere where there are calculations. Actually anyone, whether it be the natural person or the enterprise, can accept for payment the Visa/MasterCard cards for business or personal needs.
Cost
The cost of such device for the Russian market is 100 rub and is compensated after carrying out the first transaction.

AirBank (Czech Republic)
The Czech Airbank is positioned as financial institution of the future. In its departments there are no traditional racks — for employees and for clients one general space is provided. It is designed emphasize simplicity and convenience of bank also a nonconventional dress-code according to which bank representatives will meet clients not in strict business suits, and in jeans.
The client will be able independently to make all transactions using the computer, and all information on its accounts and transactions which usually is closed will be available to viewing. If necessary people will be able to ask for the help employees of the bank for whom the place on a cozy green sofa is provided. All transactions with cash can be made in the ATMs with touch displays installed before an input in department.
Prototypes and advanced developments
4G-ATM
At the exhibition of consumer electronics which took place January, 2012 in Las Vegas (Consumer Electronics Show) of Diebold Nixdorf showed the project of the first-ever ATM using networks of fourth generation (4G). Representatives of Diebold in Russia explained CNews that the shown copy represents one of latest models of ATMs of the company with the integrated 4G-module. "Project" it is called because delivery of such ATMs to financial institutions did not begin yet, they add[2].
Practical importance
- An opportunity to adjust a direct communication link between the ATM and the center of monitoring and, thereby, to eliminate need of use of the external alarm panel.
- Service staff will be able to assess much quicker a situation and to undertake measures in case of a physical attack on the ATM.
- Also using 4G, for example, it is possible to transfer audio-and video this by means of wireless two-way communication for direct interaction of the user of the ATM with bank employees during transactions.
Virtual ATM
The companies Diebold Nixdorf also VMware provided a prototype of the virtual ATM. Its difference from traditional is that in it there is no built-in computer. The ATM on a communication channel transfers information to the centralized computer center where it is processed together with the data obtained from other ATMs united in network[3].
Practical importance
Such consolidation:
- Will allow to increase security of transactions.
- Will leave less opportunities for fraud.
- Will provide more effective operation of the server.
- Will provide faster recovery after errors.
- Will provide the accelerated software updating.
Video banking
NCR, one of the largest global manufacturers of ATMs, announced purchase of a minority stake of uGenius Technology company, the pioneer of technologies of video banking. A main product of the company is the uGenius Video Banking System system allowing specialists of bank to service clients in the remote mode via ATMs.
In 2011 NCR and uGenius already implemented the joint project on creation of the self-service terminal equipped with technology of video banking. Development received the name NCR APTRA Interactive Teller NCR[4].
Practical importance
Technologies of video conferences significantly expand possibilities of bank departments:
- Allow banks to increase availability of services
- Expand the geographical presence
- Cut down expenses and offer clients higher level of service

- In modern technical new products which producers electronic engineers offer bankers, there is no shortcoming now. It is rather – on the contrary. The producer of next technical "feature" will try to convince bank buyer that its device will raise the level of banking services on new height, unavailable to competitors so far. - The key moment in work of bank is individual approach to each client. This concept becomes more difficult to be implemented in the conditions of permanent upgrade of business and expansion of a branch network. However the efficiency of bank department and its personnel can be increased considerably using modern IT, including radio technologies of RFID or NFC, the systems of identification by bioparameters, such engineering devices as "videowall" and "an electronic feather".
