Biography
Sergey Borisovich Ivanov was born on January 31, 1953 in Leningrad.
In 1975 he graduated from the translation department of the philological faculty of Leningrad State University.
Since March 28, 2001, Sergei Ivanov has been working in the government of the Russian Federation. From 2001 to 2005 - as Minister of Defense. Since November 14, 2005, he combined the post of minister with the post of deputy chairman of the government of the Russian Federation, and on February 16, 2007 he became first deputy chairman of the government.
