2023: Supply of PowerScan A0 ART and PlanScan A2

Two domestic scanning complexes delivered to the Bakhrushinsky Theater Museum as part of the import substitution program in IT will help digitize the Bakhrushinsky collection. Elar announced this on April 21, 2023. It includes more than 1.5 million exhibits, including sketches of costumes and sets by scenography masters, stage costumes of great actors, objects of decorative and applied art, programs and posters of performances, photographs, portraits and rare editions. Contactless scanning will create all the conditions for the safe creation of digital twins of priceless works of art.

PowerScan A0 ART is designed for translation into electronic form of works of art, large-format documents, various volumetric objects. The scanner allows you to digitize originals with reprographic quality larger than the A0 format and up to 20 cm thick. With the new ELAR PlanScan A2, you can perform high-quality streaming digitization of documents of any physical state - a contactless scanning method helps to create electronic copies of even time-damaged documents, including those with a dense root.

Five scanners have already been installed in the stock departments of the Bakhrushinsky Theater Museum for April 2023.

Digitization, thanks to which an insurance fund of high-quality copies is formed, makes it possible, first of all, to solve the problem of forming, in accordance with Russian law, a single accounting document of the museum fund of the Russian Federation - the State Catalog of the Russian Federation. Digital images are stored in JPEG formats (for upload to the KAMIS program and to the State Catalog) and TIFF (for use in exhibition projects and publications).

In addition, the formation of high-quality electronic copies creates the conditions for a larger study of the objects included in the famous collection of the Bakhrushin Museum. Digitization makes them available to the largest circle of users - from scientists, publishers and organizers of exhibition projects to students and lovers of the history of Russian theater art, including visitors to social networks, portals of the Collection-online, "Theater Museums of Russia" and "All Chekhov."
