Шаблон:Card of the robot TOPIO ("TOSY Ping Pong Playing Robot") — robot- android developed for a game in table tennis against the person. Has the appearance reminding human moves on two legs. The robot is developed in 2005 the Vietnamese by the company Шаблон:Not переведено, engaged in developments in the area robotics. The first public demonstration of the robot took place in Tokyo at an exhibition Шаблон:Is not translated on November 28, 2007 [1]. The latest version of the robot — TOPIO 3.0 has height of 1 meter of 88 centimeters and about 120 kg weigh. All versions of the robot use the self-training system artificial intelligence allowing the robot to improve the skills in the course of[2].
History of development
In November, 2005 TOSY company began the TOPIO project [3]. In July, 2007 TOSY provided the first experimental sample of the robot with one leg equipped with a hydraulic system and having eight degrees of freedom. On November 28, 2007 there took place the first public demonstration of the TOPIO 1.0 robot. TOPIO 1.0 had six legs, was equipped with a hydraulic system and had twenty degrees of freedom[3]. On February 5, 2009 at a large industrial exhibition Шаблон:It is not translated in Germany TOPIO 2.0 was provided. The hydraulic system was replaced with servomotors of a direct current, the robot had two legs and 42 degrees of freedom[3]. On November 25, 2009 at an exhibition Шаблон:It is not translated the version of the TOPIO 3.0 robot having two legs and having 39 degrees of freedom [4] was submitted to Tokyo [4]. In TOPIO 3.0 brushless servomotors of a direct current are used. Also the TOPIO 3.0 robot was shown at the Nuremberg International Toy Fair exhibition in Germany (on February 4-9, 2010) and at the AUTOMATICA Munich exhibition in Germany (on June 8-11, 2010).
Models of the robot
The first version of the TOPIO robot was submitted in July, 2007. The robot has eight degrees of freedom, has one leg. As the drive the hydraulic system is used[3].
TOPIO 1.0
The TOPIO 1.0 robot has height of 185 centimeters and weight of 300 kg. As the drive the hydraulic system is used[3]. The robot has six legs, two high-speed cameras. TOPIO 1.0 has twenty degrees of freedom: two fall on the head, on six degrees of freedom on each hand, on one degree of freedom on each of six legs.
TOPIO 2.0
TOPIO 2.0 weighs five times less previous model — TOPIO of 1.0 — 60 kg. Height of the robot is 215 cm. The robot uses lithium-pol cells (the operating voltage of 48 volts, capacity — 20 ampere-hours). As drives servomotors of a direct current are used. TOPIO 2.0 has two legs[3]. The robot is equipped with two high-speed video cameras. From 42 degrees of freedom which the robot has 3 three fall on the head, on seven on each of two hands, on six on each of two legs, on the body (trunk) of the robot and on five on each brush of the robot.
TOPIO tiny
TOPIO tiny is the miniature version of the TOPIO 2.0 robot. Height of TOPIO tiny is 40 cm. The robot was presented at the World CUP 2010 exhibition [5].
TOPIO 3.0
The TOPIO 3.0 robot has the weight of 120 kg and height of 188 cm. As well as TOPIO 2.0 in this version are used lithium-pol cells with operating voltage of 48 volts and with a capacity of 20 ampere-hours[4]. As drives brushless servomotors of a direct current are used. As at the previous version, at the TOPIO robot 3.0 two legs and two high-speed video cameras. The robot has 39 degrees of freedom from which two it is the share of the head, on seven of each of two hands, on six of each of two legs, one on the body (trunk) TOPIO and on five of each brush of the robot[4].
