History

1620–1689: Adjustment of sails

Husqvarna was founded as "Weapon Factory Yonchepinga" on the decree of the Swedish king, and in the first years the plant released about 1500 muskets a year. The released product inspired on creation of a logo in the form of classical "sight" which, though in the updated option, is used to this day. In 1689 when Sweden began to increase the army, the factory located in 7 kilometers from the central office and made boring and grinding of mushketny trunks - on falls of the town Huskvarna. This that place which and now is taken by a modern complex of Husqvarna factory.

1757–1850: Husqvarna formation

The king gives the company to the private owner, and the name changes on "The plant of weapon Husqvarna". By 1850 all production moves to Huskvarna town.

1872–1912: Expansion of the production area

The contract Husqvarna with the Royal family for delivery of weapon for army comes to an end, and the company begins to look for ways for expansion. The innovation and ambitious period of activity of the company which led to emergence of a broad spectrum of new products, such as began only:

Sewing machines (1872), hunting weapon (1877), wood-fired furnaces (1884), meat grinders (1890), the first Swedish mopeds (1895), bicycles (1896), motorcycles (1903) and gas stoves (1912).

1918–1919: The first lawn-mower

Husqvarna purchases Norrahammars Bruk company which adds two new products to a portfolio: boilers and manual lawn-mowers. In 1919 Husqvarna begins to make own engines.

1921–1949: Production receives a name

Expansion of a field of activity continues due to own development of home appliances, such as first Husqvarna electric stove, dishwasher and washer.

1947-1959: The first lawn-mowers with the engine - and chainsaws

The first Husqvarna lawn-mower with the engine for commercial use was released in 1947, and in 1959 the first model for private use appeared. It was year of hard work for Husqvarna because this year is marked also by release of the first chainsaw. Husqvarna 90 was designed by the famous Swedish designer Siksten Sazon. He used technology of the muffler of the motorcycle for achievement of lower level of noise, than his modern competitors.

1967: A Farewell to Arms In 1967 Husqvarna releases the last fowling piece, the 1900th series. This weapon was considered as going ahead far of the time, and became a sample for producers of civil weapon worldwide. Even now, the majority of modern fowling pieces are based on the innovative solutions of Husqvarna company.

1968: We represent Husqvarna brush cutters

Husqvarna begins production of brush cutters with model 65R. It strengthens interaction of Husqvarna with specialists of forestry even more.

1969: Anti-vibration system

The Husqvarna 180 chainsaw in which for the first time in the world the innovation anti-vibration system is used is released. This protective function began to prevent decrease in a blood-groove at workers of forestry worldwide.

1972: A new name – new appearance

The company name is officially reduced to simple "Husqvarna' that was at once reflected in the updated logo.

1973: Security above all!

The Husqvarna 140 chainsaw is provided. The first-ever chainsaw with an automatic brake of a chain.

1982: Paris - Dakar

The Husqvarna motorcycle (MC 258) wins in a class of 250 cubes on legendary rally Paris-Dakar. Initially this motorcycle intended for the Swedish army, but when began to show interest also the French army, the motorcycle was designed with the highest performance. Thus, the used model was not changed in any way - in addition to installation of the bigger gasoline tank and a seat, it also was so intended for long trips.

1985: Birthday of Ryder The first prototype of the machine which is called Husqvarna rider now is made.

1986: End of an era

The division on production of the Husqvarna motorcycles is sold.

1988–1990: World recognition The USA becomes the largest market of consumption of products Husqvarna for the wood and a garden. Thanks to new acquisitions the company implements the American garden tractors in Europe.

1989: Conquering peaks

Release of the Husqvarna 3120 XP chainsaw - one of the biggest and most powerful chainsaws in the world today. It instantly becomes a favourite among fellers and already a set of times was exposed to improvement since then.

1995: Invention of the lawn-mower robot

Husqvarna starts the lawn-mower robot on the Solar Mower solar battery - the first-ever completely automatic lawn-mower. This model became the predecessor of a popular series of Husqvarna Automower® robots.

1997: Focus Production of sewing machines is completely sold and leaves the company. From this point the companies can focus only on two main areas: production of tools for the forest, a garden and the park and also the construction equipment.

1999: TrioBrake™

The TrioBreak function ™ (the system of a threefold brake of a chain), the chain allowing users to stop the right hand, was provided in 1999 - for the purpose of reduction of risk of getting injured by workers of forestry.

2009: Break in the production technology of chainsaws!

Husqvarna represents AutoTune™, technology break in production of professional chainsaws. The innovative technology automatically regulates settings of the carburetor for optimization of performances and decrease in number of harmful emissions.

2012: Accumulator revolution – and many other things …

Chainsaws, trimmers, brush cutters and new riders. The revolutionary breakthrough of Husqvarna in production of accumulators allowed to offer complete product assortment with a performance of petrol models, but without harmful emissions, with the noise floor, vibration and maintenance. During 2012 Husqvarna also receives a large number of awards, such as world design award "RedDot Award", Silent Brand and also gold, silver and bronze medals in the World Cup among professional fellers.

2013: Revolution of robots

Third generation of Husqvarna lawn-mowers robots begins with model 330X which using GPS remembers where it already cut a grass, automatically adapts to weather and a season and also reveals bottlenecks and adapts to them.
