L’Occitane en Provence (L'Oksitan) is the French brand of natural cosmetics with production in Manosk (France). It was founded in 1976 by Olivier Bossan. According to the founder the brand was created with the purpose to revive and save traditions of Provence.
In the 1980th year the first boutique in the Provencal town of Volks, in the 1996th year — in Paris opens.
In 2000 L'Oksitan opens the first salon in Moscow in Shopping Center Nautilus. Today L'Oksitan contains more than one hundred salons in all large cities of Russia. In Russia products L'Oksitan is provided by L'Oksitan Rus LLC company. In 2011 the L'Oksitan company was included into list 50 of the most successfully developing brands according to Jim Shtengel (Stengel 50 List).
In assortment L'Oksitan is person, body, hair care products, perfumery, aromas for the house. Lines are created around one key vegetable ingredient and are called in his honor — a lavender, almonds, an olive, a juniper, etc. All ingredients are extracted in Provence, except for a verbena and an immortelle which L'Oksitan grows up on organic plantations on Corsica, and oil to the carriage which L'Oksitan manufactures in Burkina Faso. Creating the cosmetics, the company adheres to three core values: sensuality, authenticity and respect.
