L'Occitane en Provence (L'Occitan) is a French brand of natural cosmetics with production in Manosque (France). It was founded in 1976 by Olivier Bossan. According to the founder, the brand was created in order to revive and preserve the traditions of Provence.

In 1980, the first boutique was opened in the Provençal town of Volx, in 1996 - in Paris.

In 2000, L'Occitan opened the first salon in Moscow in the Nautilus shopping center. Today, L'Occitan has more than a hundred salons in all major cities of Russia. In Russia, L'Occitan products are represented by L'Occitan Rus LLC. In 2011, L'Occitan was included in the list of 50 most successful developing brands according to Jim Stengel (Stengel 50 List).

In the range of L'Occitan there are products for the care of the face, body, hair, perfumes, fragrances for the house. Lines are created around one key plant ingredient and are named after him - lavender, almonds, olive, juniper, etc. All ingredients are mined in Provence, with the exception of verbena and the immortal, which L'Occitan grows on organic plantations in Corsica, and carite oil, which L'Occitan produces in Burkina Faso. Creating its cosmetics, the company adheres to three basic values: sensuality, authenticity and respect.

Performance indicators

2024: Revenue growth by 9.5% to RUB 8.2 billion

As TAdviser found out in early August 2025, in 2024, the revenue of the L'Occitan cosmetics chain amounted to 8.19 billion rubles. This is 12.9% more compared to the previous year, when the company received 7.25 billion rubles.

The cost of sales on an annualized basis increased by a third - from 2.63 billion rubles to 3.51 billion rubles. Commercial expenses rose by 15%, reaching 3.13 billion rubles against 2.72 billion rubles in 2023. Management expenses increased by 7.1% - from 372.88 million rubles to 399.28 million rubles. Other income decreased from 134.76 million rubles to 92.01 million rubles, that is, by 31.7%. At the same time, other expenses increased by 40% - from 196.8 million rubles to 275.46 million rubles.

Sales of products, goods, works and services in 2024 brought 7.97 billion rubles: this is 16.7% more than in 2023 (6.83 billion rubles). Payments to suppliers (contractors) for raw materials, materials, works and services increased by 16.9% - from 3.53 billion rubles to 4.13 billion rubles. Costs in connection with the remuneration of workers were recorded in the amount of 919.59 million rubles against 913.69 million rubles in 2023 (plus 0.6%).

Gross profit in 2024 amounted to 4.68 billion rubles: growth compared to the previous year, when 4.62 billion rubles were received, was at the level of 1.2%. At the same time, profit from sales decreased by about a quarter - from 1.53 billion rubles to 1.16 billion rubles. Net profit decreased from 1.05 billion rubles to 785.56 million rubles, that is, by 24.9%.

As of December 31, 2024, receivables are indicated in the amount of 2.24 billion rubles, which is 21.3% more compared to 2023, when it was 1.85 billion rubles. Accounts payable increased by 13.4% - from 1.74 billion rubles to 1.97 billion rubles.[1]
