Till spring of 2013 the Russian representative office of Teradata - solution provider in storage area and data analysis – was supervised the vice president for Eastern Europe Jan Shimek. It was small division of the niche company – in itself not large, by the standards of other multinational corporations. Managed formally Russian business from Prague at strategic coordinating at the level of the American headquarters. However from this month considerably Teradata which expanded lately in Russia begins to function as full-fledged local office, and its activity will be headed by one of key staff - Andrey Alekseenko who was earlier supervising the directions on work with the financial sector and retail.[1]

Announced the intention to strengthen local examination of Teradata last year. But then the emphasis was placed rather on the separate directions – for example, work with an oil and gas industry, power, a public sector. Both potential of demand of the large-scale Russian market, and its loudspeaker which, according to representatives of the company, became the driver of all business in EMEA region was already clear (the general growth in the region in 1 half-year 2012 was +16%, growth of consolidated revenues of +18%). However, on EMEA a little more than 20% in total income of corporation are the share so far (of the mature American market - more than 60%), and it is clear that it is strategically difficult to revaluate the capacity of this growing region at the expense of Russia. And here, at the current stage of development here essentially important began to concentrate on key positions of Russians.
