Uralkali creates a corporate portal based on the solution Microsoft SharePoint 2013, the Softline company - integrator in the project reported on June 6, 2013.
Start
By the time of the beginning of the project, in infrastructure of Uralkali more than eight years the portal solution, at this stage of development of the company not corresponding, neither on functional, nor on business requirements functioned. Within development of the portal the decision on creation of new full-function service on the Microsoft SharePoint 2013 platform with transfer of a part of functionality and content from the existing portal solution and also is made on formation of several new modules. As a result of an open competition the right to project implementation was acquired by Softline company.
Sergey Zharov, the project manager of department of solutions of Microsoft of Softline company, noted: "Deployment of a corporate portal includes five stages. The first, development and approval of technical specifications, is at a completion stage at present. System implementation, its start in experienced and the subsequent transfer to commercial operation need to be completed until the end of 2013. Then the five-year cycle of technical support of work of the portal is provided".
Objectives
A system is intended for information and analytical ensuring activity of the company, accumulation of knowledge and automation of a part of business processes. The new portal solution is going to be integrated with all elements of the infrastructure which is mostly constructed on technologies of Oracle and IBM Lotus (for example, with electronic document management systems). Within the project centralization of separate IT systems in the solution providing access to the personified information space of the employee is planned. In addition, in seven mine administrations of the company installation of information booths for work with the internal portal of workers on production is provided.
"We pay to creation of uniform strong corporate culture of Uralkali much attention, we aim to increase efficiency of each employee, to improve interaction between divisions. The internal portal of the company is the main instrument of increase in productivity of communications, cooperation and knowledge sharing between nearly 12000 workers of production, - Olga Smirnova, the chief of the center of corporate media and informing management of internal communications of directorate on personnel of JSC Uralkali told. - In the new portal many innovations are planned. The updated HR block will become more interactive: employees will have a possibility of electronic filing of applications via the portal (making an appointment with the doctor, the application for rest of the child during summer vacation, a balance request in the section of a corporate power supply). In addition, several new functional modules, in particular, a management system for the knowledge base and the section of investment projects will be implemented".
