Upgrade of IT infrastructure of office "Sentinel Credit Management" in the region is complete

The Softline company announced on July 12, 2013 project completion of upgrade of IT infrastructure of Sentinel Credit Management regional office on the platform of solutions VMware, Citrix and Dell Wyse.
Status
The computer park of office of the company in Kazan consisted generally of outdated PCs, their performance did not conform to requirements from modern software. The VPN channel had limited capacity that had an adverse effect on information processing rate.
The company management set the tasks for IT specialists:
- replacement of the PC outdated park;
- increase in speed of work with the documents which are stored on a file server in the central office;
- unification of software;
- ensuring scalability, security and fault tolerance of IT infrastructure;
- reduction of speed of deployment of software on computers of users.
The Softline company became the partner of the project of upgrade.
In the company the technology of virtualization acted on the basis of solutions of VMware.
Job
Specialists of the contractor and customer company decided to use solutions of VMware 5.0, Citrix XenDesktop 5.6., thin clients Dell Wyse and VDI technology. The Citrix XenDesktop software product was selected as the most complete solution for virtualization of applications and in need of creation of VDI.
At a stage of a pilot project as thin clients selected the equipment Dell Wyse – T10 model working running own OS (ThinOS). This thin client or OS differs in high high-speed performance, is not subject to infection with viruses, has the minimum volume about 7 MB. According to it it is simple to service and to update quickly. Project implementation took place step by step. In the beginning specialists of Softline created a reference image of the workstation, then performed deployment of servers of management, licensing, Citrix access. After setup of the thin client of Wyse group politicians defined and held testing at the central office. Then implementation at office of the customer in Kazan followed actually. For July 12, 2013 a system works in the mode of production operation, it is serviced by two administrators of Sentinel Credit Management.
"Thanks to thin clients at us need to service stationary PCs or to spend time for their installation disappeared. It is easy to install this device and rather simply to get access to the working environment. At the same time all data are stored in DPC, the risk of their loss is minimum, deployment of new services or software updating comes "on the fly", without the employee's separation from work, - Alexey Volobuyev, the head of department of system administration of Sentinel Credit Management LLC noted. - We work with Softline for many years and managed to estimate fully high professionalism and speed of work of a command".
"For implementation of the tasks specialists of Softline offered the customer a complex of IT solutions which was increased by the speed and employee performance. Implementation happened in several stages therefore transition was the most comfortable both for us, and for the customer", - Ivan Orlov, the consultant of department of virtualization of Softline emphasized.
Result
As a result of the implemented project, in Sentinel Credit Management company the base for creation of well scalable, managed IT infrastructure in regional offices appeared. Use of thin clients allowed to resolve for a long time an issue with upgrade and service of stationary PCs, minimized risk of data loss and made work of the user of more comfortable in terms of ergonomics and not less convenient in terms of the user experience. At the same time, the obsolete computer hardware also found application: it is used at solving of tasks with which it is capable to cope.
