The Belavia airline placed online services in a cloud of ActiveCloud by Softline

Belavia airlines transferred public services - a booking system of tickets and internal flight work, the website and databases - to "cloud" of ActiveCloud by Softline. As a result the airline managed to increase information processing rate about armoring and to achieve high fault tolerance of a system.

RUP "National Airline 'Belavia'" - one of leaders in the field of passenger and freight air transportation between Russia and Republic of Belarus. For 2012 the company transported about 1700 tons of a load and mail and also more than 1.2 million passengers.

Clients of airline prefer to purchase tickets through Internet services of armoring. With respect thereto Belavia gives special attention to ensuring smooth operation of online services and convenience of their use.

"The airline was faced by a problem of placement in a cloud of the new implemented schedule system of flight work. This project initially was considered by us as a risky experiment as required carrying out out of limits of the existing infrastructure of data, critical for functioning of the company, and business processes. Naturally, we with special care approached a question of the choice of the contractor", – the Mogilev Alexey, the chief of service of information technologies of Belavia tells.

In view of concerns of the customer and importance of the implemented project, ActiveCloud by Softline gave to airline an opportunity within two and a half months to perform testing of the project. It allowed Belavia to collect complete statistics on system operation and to complete the works on its adjustment and start in operation.

In "cloud" the database of airline and also the web portal with personal accounts of users of a system was taken out. Placement of such confidential information demanded the highest level of setup of a security system. For these purposes the VPN tunnel (IPSec + PSK) and MsSQL Server 2012 was used. Besides, necessary licenses softwares were updated, terminal access based on RDP clients is provided and information backup system is customized.

All this allowed Belavia to ensure smooth operation of many technology processes on work planning of crews of aircrafts and services of stewards and also to optimize a number of labor-intensive business processes of airline.
