Alan Roger Mulally is the famous American engineer and the businessman who for September, 2013 is the president and the CEO of car maker Ford. Under its management during recession of the 2000th Ford it appeared to the only large producers of a car in the USA which managed to save profitability and to be left afloat without financial support from the government of states.
Education
Alan Mulalli is a graduate of the University of Kansas (University of Kansas) who graduated in 1969 majoring in space engineering (received consistently degrees of the bachelor and the master). It also has degree of the master of management who received at MIT Sloan School of Management business school in 1982.
Career
Before arrival to Mulalli's Ford was the vice president of Boeing and the CEO of Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA). He started the career in Boeing in 1969 as the engineer.
Possible transition to Microsoft
At the end of September, 2013 it became known that the CEO of Ford Alan Mulalli (Alan Mulally), perhaps, will become the main contender for releasing the resigned Steve Ballmer from a post of the head of Microsoft, the AllThingsD edition reported about it.
Before becoming at a wheel of Ford, Mulalli was general the director of the company of Boeing who is based in Seattle where at the top manager the apartment still remained. The way from Seattle to Redmond where there is Microsoft headquarters, can quickly enough be overcome on the car.
Mulalli is quite close to Ballmer, and, by hearsay, advised the friend during the latest reorganization of the company. Though he is not the technical expert, it has outstanding experience in plot area of large business. Mulalli's experience can do Microsoft good: the company has very successful businesses, such as, for example, production of software products, but there are also weaker directions.
One more applicant for Ballmer's place the western media call Stephen Elop, also the native of Microsoft, the last three years being at a wheel of Nokia which purchase was announced by corporation recently.
