AECOsim Building Designer Connect Edition

The Bentley Systems company announced on October 12, 2017 a release of the AECOsim Building Designer Connect Edition application for information modeling of buildings (BIM) from Bentley company. The application is intended for large and/or difficult construction projects which usually face problems of consolidation of vulgar and linear infrastructure (for example, highways, the railroads, communication networks, etc.).

Software of AECOsim Building Designer Connect Edition uses the general complex environment of modeling with all Bentley Connect Edition applications. Read more here.

AssetWise Connect Edition

On February 27, 2017 the Bentley Systems company announced release of AssetWise Connect Edition - the integrated environment of data at which are present 3D - the geocoordination complemented with technologies of modeling of reality from Bentley, the engineering accuracy, the self-described data and automation of workflows.

AssetWise Connect Edition allows to control changes of an asset for its lifecycle. Due to regular inspections and timely service this solution is capable to reduce the risks connected with breakdowns of the equipment, to automate adoption of operational solutions using powerful instruments of work with data. AssetWise Connect Edition ensures functioning with numerous data sources for obtaining crucial information in work of the enterprise.

AssetWise Connect Edition can work with different information:

Interaction of Connect Editions AssetWise and ProjectWise creates an integrated environment of data for implementation of BIM potential of the engineering models and their use at operation created at a construction stage. The integrated environment helps to work with initial design data in maintenance time of an object. Succession of models and design data matters for maintenance of normal work of an object. The integrated environment of data combines in itself engineering, information and operational technologies.

2016: Bentley distributes perpetual licenses to clients of Autodesk

On July 12, 2016 it became known that Bentley Systems began the program of updating of licenses of Autodesk. Because the company stops sale of perpetual licenses on separate software products, owners of Autodesk can lose invested funds. Bentley Systems will provide to such clients "in permanent use" the updated perpetual licenses based on Bentley. These licenses do not depreciate as the annual portfolio of Bentley SELECT allows to perform exchange between solutions within a complex application package.

John Cruikshank, president and chief executive of company JMC2 Civil Engineering + Surveying: "Autodesk introduces restrictions all the time, forcing us to refuse perpetual licenses for benefit of an annual subscription. Their actions simplified an opportunity to use the products Bentley. As software for design is a vital basis of civil design, construction and surveying works, our main objective always consisted in updating the applications and as much as possible to increase investments from their use. The new Bentley program for updating of licenses of Autodesk is the excellent solution for us".

2014

On November 5, 2014 the company Bentley Systems, Incorporated provided new generation of software for sustainable development of infrastructure of the version of CONNECT Edition. It will replace generation of software of V8i, supports hybrid computing environment for complex project implementation and "ensuring reach" to all project participants.

The version of CONNECT Edition is available to MicroStation to subscribers of the Early Access program. A large number of services ProjectWise, Navigator will be available to subscribers of Early Access in the new version at the end of 2014. The lack of changes in a format of the DGN files for modeling of the version of V8i will allow to save compatibility, both with MicroStation CONNECT Edition, and with ProjectWise CONNECT Edition. Versions of CONNECT Edition of applications of Bentley for modeling and software of AssetWise prepare for release in 2015 - 2016.

Innovations

The version of CONNECT Edition does possible integration of platform Bentley technology with the hybrid environment of desktop applications for modeling, services on the basis of "cloud", local servers and mobile applications. CONNECT Edition uses services on the Microsoft Azure platform for consolidation of all users who are taking part in the project. The user of CONNECT Edition receives the personalized list of special applications Bentley Playlist for each project participant with recommendations about professional training and timely councils. Bentley CONNECTIONS Passport provides access with authentication to services and software of ProjectWise and AssetWise, integrating components of hybrid computing environment of the user in a whole. For example, the Bentley Navigator CONNECT Edition application provides to users the interface which is equally submerging in virtual environment for any devices Windows, Android and iOS, from huge touch screens to the CPC that provides information mobility at office, in a workplace and in field conditions.

CONNECT Edition provides the special plan of Bentley Playbook in which recommendations concerning applications, an optimal image meeting requirements of the project and suitable each participant for accomplishment of its role are provided. In addition to benefit from use of specific work areas for each project, each such project can be documented by the corresponding directories on a cloud which contain the description of the functional parts and the managed characteristics which are subject to inclusion and a binding to the project in the course of its complex implementation and transfer to the customer.

ProjectWise WorkSite CONNECT Edition provides to workers on places the managed access to the latest project documentation with functions of reviewing and adjustment.
• The general environment of modeling – a system has potential for ensuring iterative cooperation in project implementation of an industrial scale with support of project modeling, analytical modeling and construction modeling. The version of CONNECT Edition MicroStation is equipped with the new user interface. All applications for CONNECT Edition modeling are supported now by functional parts – parametrically set, intellectual objects with proper context-dependent conduct in creation of schematic copies, copies of modeling and resulting instances. The optimization of engineering developments on the basis of a cloud improving analytical modeling, intensive in terms of calculations, for STAAD, SACS and other applications becomes a reality thanks to ProjectWise Scenario Services.
• The general environment for control of results of work – the center of documentation Documentation Center, a new feature of the version of CONNECT Edition MicroStation, allows project participants to integrate, publish and, for the first time, to exchange the approved complex results on a joint of several disciplines. ProjectWise Deliverables Management provides service with instant access based on a cloud for management of a covering note and the provided documentation and requests for obtaining information. The service ProjectWise Transformation Service manages the automated publication and the providing i-models and the standardized information resources to employees of the project and workers based on workflows on places.
• The general environment of data – Service ProjectWise Engineering Content Management Service implements the technology of information management Bentley eB Information Management providing to the project organizations with powerful corporate environment a possibility of preserving, management, registration and effective use of intellectual property in all projects and plans. The service ProjectWise Engineering Content Management saves the relations and changes in any arrays of information which it manages, whether it be models, documents or databases. Besides, the organizations users can use field, local and other workflows of data collection with a closed loop using the configured, managed forms embedded in applications by Bentley.

On October 28, 2013 the Bentley Systems company announced - Bentley CONNECT SAAS-SERVICES, will be provided in full through a cloud platform of Windows Azure of Microsoft corporation.
