The administration of the Surgut district uses technologies of management of an IT landscape

On December 10, 2013 the Softline company announced project completion on system implementation of control of workstations in Administration of the Surgut district.

Project Tasks

In structure of Administration of the Surgut district different departments, managements, committees, departments work. Activity of administration assumes accomplishment of the supervising, control, managerial functions connected with processing of a large number of information. For effective implementation of these tasks it is necessary to ensure smooth operation of all divisions due to creation of uniform, flexible, failsafe IT infrastructure.

In 2012 between the organizations the agreement of Microsoft Enterprise Agreement (EA) within which the problem of licensing and standardization of all PC park distributed on five buildings of administration and numbering about 750 workstations was solved is signed.

The problem of control of workstations was particularly acute for department of informatization and network resources. For it engineers of Softline recommended to implement solutions tools on configuration management of the PC and servers using the product System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM).

Project Progress

"For preparation for system implementation of control of workstations our engineers conducted comprehensive examination of the existing customer's IT infrastructure. Then deployment of a server part of SCCM was performed. Further clients of SCCM were installed on workstations of a pilot user group. At the final stage engineers of Softline instructed for IT specialists customers on the basics of a system, then the solution was brought into operation", - Dmitry Nagovitsyn, the head of the Center of solutions of Softline company in the Ural Federal District and Perm Krai noted.

Project Results

Project Results: automation of basic processes, software installation, deployment of the operating system on the PC of employees, including on remote platforms and also migration of the circle of users on new Microsoft OS and inventory of IT assets. All this allowed to reduce labor costs of IT specialists by support and development of IT infrastructure. As a result, the efficiency of department in general increased.

"Thanks to system implementation of configuration management labor costs of IT specialists were considerably reduced by control of workstations. In short terms and at the minimum costs we received the powerful tool for effective control over jobs of users that allowed to increase efficiency of department in the present and gave the chance of expansion of functionality on infrastructure management in the near future", - Natalia Goryaeva, the head of department of informatization and network resources of Administration of the Surgut district emphasized.
