Inchcape implements management tools an IT environment

On June 6, 2014 the Softline company announced completion of works in a pilot project of implementation of Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2012 at the central office Inchcape Russia.

Project Tasks

The Inchcape Russia company locates branched structure with the PC park more than 2 thousand units managed manually by means of use group the politician. To the customer the solution providing inventory program and the hardware, automating process of distribution of software, creation of basic indicators of a configuration, their support was required.

To requirements there corresponded Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2012.

Ivan Tkachenko, CIO of Inchcape Russia company, having got acquainted with systems capabilities, made the decision on pilot implementation at the central office. As the expert in project implementation Softline acted.

Project Progress

Within a pilot project engineers of department of solutions of Microsoft of Softline company implemented SCCM 2012, for no-touch deployment of the software created an image of the Windows 7 operating system and two application packages — MS Office and the SAP client. Configured templates of a basic configuration of parameters of compliance using which the customer will be able to check machines for compliance to standards by the set parameters.

Project Results

Yury Yanushko, the head of support department and development of information infrastructure of Inchkeyp Holding, noted: "Now SCCM is at a stage of trial operation. A system collects all information and also distributes the software to new PCs. We understand importance of use of this tool in infrastructure of Inchcape and already planned its development that will allow to exclude the errors arising at manual installation of applications and to reduce time of technical specialists for accomplishment of routine transactions. As a result the released resources of department can be redistributed on more important projects. Managing workstations using SCCM, we expect to increase efficiency and performance of IT service in general".

Yulia Nazarova, the project manager of department of solutions of Microsoft of Softline company, told: "Test deployment is good to estimate what gives an opportunity to the customer fully functionality of a product and to make the weighed decision on its further development. Inventory of the equipment and software, automation of deployment of applications, control, the reporting - important and resource-intensive problems of any IT department, but especially critical they become for the companies with an extensive network. It is sure that Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager will help Inchcape to optimize daily activity of technical employees and to increase efficiency of their work".
