2018: Start of the sorting line in St. Petersburg

On January 12, 2018 in the Automated sorting center of Russian Post in St. Petersburg start of the line for sorting of mailings of production of Toshiba company and also transfer of a large batch of cargo vans to the St. Petersburg branch of the company took place. As expected, the line started in work will allow to increase the volume of the processed international mail more than twice. Own investments of Russian Post into the project made 5 million euros (over 341.5 rubles).

The sorting line is intended for processing of the international mailings by weight from 20 g to 2 kg mainly from Finland, the Baltic States and other countries of the world from which runs to Pulkovo Airport are made.

The grading machine has the settlement power of 220 thousand mailings a day. It is equipped with the system of optical recognition which allows to sort not only registered, but also simple small models. The agreement provides 2 years of technical round-the-clock support from Toshiba.

According to information "Toshiba Rus", one of key features of this machine is a ratio of potential sorting power and the personnel involved at the same time: so, processing of 220 thousand departures a day requires only 12 operators. They spread departures on a sorting tape and fix the created tanks.

The equipment has 114 direct exits. Settings of the grading machine give the chance to perform detailed sorting of departures according to post offices of St. Petersburg and also to distribute them on post offices of the Leningrad Region and other regions of the Northwestern Federal District.

Updating and development of logistic infrastructure — one of priority projects of Russian Post which will allow us not only to observe control delivery dates of the international departures in the conditions of rapid development of e-commerce, but also to reduce them — the CEO of Russian Post Nikolay Podguzov is convinced. — St. Petersburg is the second most populated city of our country, and implementation of the sorting line will provide a serious stock of logistic capacities even in the conditions of peak loads.

At the same time on January 12 also transfer to the St. Petersburg branch of Russian Post of 61 cargo Ford Transit vans of the Russian production took place. The cars optimized taking into account mail requirements came to branch within the large-scale federal program of Russian Post for upgrade of vehicle fleet. The transferred mail machines come to delivery routes of departures between sorting offices and departments of a mail service of St. Petersburg.

2017

Increase in power of the logistic center in Kazan

On September 6, 2017, within the Third East economic forum in Vladivostok the CEO of Russian Post Nikolay Podguzov and the director Toshiba Infrastrakcher Sistemz of Enda of Soluchnz Corporation Mr. Takatsudzhi signed the Memorandum of understanding. The ceremony of exchange of documents is planned for September 7 in the presence of the President of the Russian Federation V.V. Putin and the prime minister of Japan Shinzo Abe.

The document provides signing of the contract worth 8.93 million euros on equipment of the place of the international mail exchange (PIME) in the Logistic center of Russian Post of Kazan which since December, 2016 functions in the test mode and prepares for delivery in production operation. The Republic of Tatarstan, the Samara region, the Ulyanovsk region, the Republic of Mari El, the Republic of Chuvashia and the Republic of Udmurtia fall within services industry of this Logistic mail center. Power of MMPO through which there will pass the international mailings will be 100 thousand small packets a day.

2016

The line of sorting of Russian Post at Tolmachevo Airport

On December 20, 2016 the Russian Post started at Tolmachevo Airport of Novosibirsk the high-speed automated line of Toshiba for sorting of mailings up to 3 kg with a performance more than 200 thousand shipments a day. It is intended for processing of both the international, and internal mailings up to 3 kg – parcels post and the international small packets.

"Automation of sorting will allow more than to double the volume of the international mail processed in MMPO Tolmachevo and to accelerate processing of the internal correspondence coming to the airport. Besides, it is the first practical step within the project on creation in Tolmachevo of the large logistic mail center – after start this line will work in its structure", – the director Makroregiona noted Siberia of Russian Post Nikolay Novoseltsev.
"For our company it is the second, after Vnukovo, the project in the territory of Russia. Participation of Toshiba in the program for automation of the sorting center in Novosibirsk – the important step in our cooperation with Russian Post showing the trust level to Toshiba company as to the supplier of technological solutions for sorting of mailings. Also it is evident practical example of implementation of the double-sided agreements reached between two companies in Tokyo", - the CEO of Toshiba Rus LLC marked out Hiroaki Tezuk.

Start in commercial operation of the new line will allow to increase on December 20 the processing speed of incoming mail during the peak period of processing of New Year's Eve Internet orders.

On December 16, 2016 in Tokyo during the visit to Japan of the President of the Russian Federation V.V. Putin, the Russian Post and Toshiba Corporation signed the expanded Memorandum of interaction in the field of automation of the Russian mail and logistics systems. Within the memorandum Toshiba performs delivery of the logistic equipment and transfer of licenses for total amount of 9.6 million euros for equipment of objects of Russian Post at Vnukovo Airport and Tolmachevo.

Logistics system at Vnukovo Airport

In the summer of 2016 Toshiba and Russian Post within East economic forum signed the memorandum of strategic cooperation in the field of automation of the Russian mail and logistics systems. As reported CNews in the Russian representative office of Toshiba, the company acted as the system integrator and equipment supplier for automation of logistics systems in the international logistic center of Russian Post in the Moscow region near Vnukovo Airport. Since the end of 2014 the company is engaged in installation of automated systems of sorting of mailings, and by the end of 2016 is going to finish installation of a system of customs examination.

The Russian Post intends to construct some more the hi-tech logistic centers in different parts of the country using the equipment of Toshiba.

Together with the Memorandum Toshiba and Russian Post signed the supplementary agreement to the contract for automation of the logistic mail center in the Moscow region near Vnukovo Airport. Total amount of the contract taking into account the supplementary agreement is about €44 million.

Alexey Skatin, the deputy CEO "Russian Post on logistics, noted that equipment installation of Toshiba in Moscow helped Russian Post to cope with the volumes of the international mailings which multiply increased in 2014-2015 and to reduce terms of processing and delivery of departures. According to Sadao Sekine (Sadao Sekine), the vice president of department of security systems and automation of Toshiba Corporation, with signing of the Memorandum with Russian Post, the company is going to increase the market share in this industry.

2014: Project for development of the logistic center

On August 4, 2014 it became known of the joint project on development of the logistic center implemented by Toshiba company in partnership with FGUP Russian Post.

Project Tasks

Toshiba Corporation won an open tender of FGUP Russian Post on equipment of the center the pochtoobrabatyvayushchy equipment. The offer of Toshiba was selected on the basis of the high level of the automation assuming use of a smaller share of manual work in comparison with other offers, as well as low operating costs of the contents and operation of the equipment.

Project Progress

Within the contract of Toshiba company it is necessary to provide the Logistic center with modern automated systems of sorting, exchange, transportation of mail, devices of automatic weighing and determination of volume indicators of departures, other equipment for automation of all production processes. The price of the contract is about 2 billion rubles during 2014 - 2015.

Use of the new equipment will help to implement the concept of separation of mail flows in a form and dimensions, to automate processing of small packets. The universality of a system of sorting of written correspondence will allow to process on the same equipment the simple and registered written correspondence of different formats, packagings, etc.

It is supposed to implement the advanced solutions for section of registration and a customs clearance of the entering import mail.

The step-by-step output of the Logistic center to ultimate production capacity should provide a possibility of processing of perspective volumes of the international mail, taking into account plans of its growth and development till 2022.

2013: Logistic mail center "Vnukovo"

The logistic mail center "Vnukovo" was brought into operation on November 25, 2013 and continues to be equipped with the modern logistic equipment. Now LPTs "Vnukovo" is capable to process to 1.5 million departures a day.
