"The Belarusian Cement Works" control transport by means of a GLONASS/GPS technologies

On August 20, 2014 it became known of end of the first stage of equipment by monitoring systems of the transport park of Belarusian Cement Works holding. The implementer in the project Omnicomm company.

Project Tasks

In vehicle fleet of holding more than 800 units of the cargo and construction equipment.

Implementation of monitoring systems began at "The Belarusian cement works" in 2010. Then there was a need of control over operation of the specialized equipment. The enterprise carried out the tender in which the largest players of the market of transport telematics presented at local market took part is organized.

Among key requirements to the equipment, the company stated need of the integrated control over fuel consumption, both working transport, and fuel-servicing trucks, a possibility of control of operation of the specialized equipment and hinged mechanisms. Simplicity and functionality of the software, reliability and fault tolerance of the equipment in the conditions of existence of vibrations and high dust content were estimated.

The Omnicomm company became the winner of the tender, and nine systems of the competing manufacturing companies in the course of tests failed, without having sustained conditions of test operation. At the same time the equipment of one of the Chinese producers caused ignition of wiring and the fire of the "test" vehicle.

Project Progress

The implementation project was implemented by Meteyl company. In addition to basic functionality of a system, the additional sensors controlling a raising and lowering of a body are installed on the BelAZ and MOAZ trucks by means of what there was a possibility of separate assessment of fuel consumption of the vehicle loaded by raw materials.

The system of monitoring Omnicomm set on Krichevtsementnoshifer transport paid for itself for the first 3 months of operation. It managed to be reached thanks to optimization of routes and the schedule of transport that, in turn, led to decrease in a run and expenses on fuel and lubricants. Now by means of a monitoring system the enterprise saves up to 20% of the funds allocated for payment of fuels and lubricants.

Stanislav Yemelyanov, the deputy CEO of Omnicomm, noted: "Use of monitoring systems not only for fight against unscrupulous drivers, but also for search of bottlenecks, in the business processes connected with transport, allows to increase many times cost efficiency of their implementation".

Project Results

The company Omnicomm completed the first stage of equipment by monitoring systems of the transport park of holding "Belarusian cement works". Fuel level sensors and navigation terminals on a basis GLONASS/GPS are installed on 195 units of transport and the construction equipment of JSC Krichevtsementnoshifer which is a part of holding.
