RNITs of the Vladimir region equips school transport with the systems of satellite control

On August 28, 2014 it became known of the project of monitoring of school buses using the system of satellite navigation GLONASS/GPS, implemented by the company "MegaFon" in interests JSC RNIC (Regional Navigation Information Centre) of the Vladimir Region.

Project Tasks

For work of a monitoring system aboard the vehicle the terminal GLONASS/GPS, working with the SIM card connected to network of the operator "MegaFon" is installed. Information from onboard terminals on network of the operator is transferred to the data processing center (DPC) and using the special interface is traced by specialists. By means of use of technologies of satellite navigation and mobile communication, in real time well to define:

• exact location of objects,
• trajectory of the movement,
• speed and vehicle mileage,
• record fuel consumption.

At emergence of a non-staff situation or the road accident, the signal from the satellite is automatically transmitted to the panel of emergency services.

"The project is implemented within the state program of development of the Vladimir region and solves very important problem - security of children. Besides, allows to reduce significantly costs for the maintenance of vehicles, to increase discipline of personnel. For today 180 school buses are equipped with onboard terminals, these are 100% of school vehicle fleet of our region" - Vladimir Tarasov, the CEO of JSC RNITs Vladimirskoy oblasti noted.

"The efficiency of use of the navigation system GLONASS/GPS in many respects depends on infrastructure of a mobile network of the operator. As partners of the project we try to provide the maximum reliability of a system, constantly we optimize infrastructure of 3G networks/4G, we build new base stations" - emphasized Ivan Vlasov, the director of the Vladimir regional department of the Central branch of JSC "MegaFon".
