The SCOUT group provided in the summer of 2014 a solution component the "Basic monitoring" allowing to monitor movement of drivers about the help of mobile phones and tablets. First of all, the application will be useful for the companies working with hired transport on which it is not rational to install fixed navigation equipment. It is important to note that SCOUT Tracker is let out open source – thanks to it all software developers can finish the application according to the tasks.
SCOUT Tracker opens new opportunities for those who trust solutions of SCOUT group. The application installed on mobile devices of employees allows the companies to monitor work of transport driven by them. It will be estimated, certainly, by the organizations attracting third-party carriers. It is not profitable to them to spend funds for equipment of machines navigation equipment, but, at the same time, they have a need for simple tracking of movement. The service and also the taxi is about transport and logistic and service companies, express and operational. A number of partners of SCOUT Group were already convinced of advantages of a new product, having taken part in preliminary testing. On a test phase SCOUT Tracker proved the demand and technical readiness for full start.
"The principle of operation of application SCOUT Tracker is based on determination of coordinates and record of a trajectory of movement of the owner of the mobile device through satellite GLONASS/ GPS- the receiver and signals arriving from base stations of LBS and on networks Wi-Fi. Collecting information from several sources at once, the application determines coordinates with an accuracy of several meters. Data are transferred to the telematic server using the open ScoutOpen protocol. The user obtains information from the server in our or third-party software integrated with a System SCOUT through this protocol. The customizability allows to monitor movement constantly or periodically, depending on an interval which is set by the user", – Ivan Kotov, the top manager of products of SCOUT Group tells.
Available and simple in use, SCOUT Tracker allows to control location of phones and tablets on which Android OS of version 4.0 is installed above. The application can be downloaded free of charge on a Google service of Play and to use in the software SCOUT Platform and SCOUT 3 and also in any software which supports the ScoutOpen protocol.
