The innovative company Promwad is an electronics design center with headquarters in Lithuania, and a development center in Serbia.

Partners of the company

Since its inception, the company has been a consultant on Debian, a free and open source OS. [3]

In 2008, Promwad entered into an official partnership with the American corporation Analog Devices (as part of the Analog Devices the Collaborative program for electronics developers and software for Blackfin processors).[4]

In June 2009, Promwad and MT-System signed a strategic partnership agreement on the Russian market in the development and support of solutions based on the company's multimedia processors Samsung [5].

In December 2009, Promwad announced its strategic cooperation Fujitsu Microelectronics Europe (FME) with the promotion of JADE platform based on OS Linux for applications in on-board and automotive electronics in the markets Russia and CIS countries. {{[6]

In 2011, the Promwad Electronics Design Center became the official consultant for STMicroelectronics (STM32) microcontrollers. [7]

Also, the innovative company Promwad is an official partner of Texas Instruments and operates in an international network of design centers that develop electronics based on TI components and semiconductor solutions. [2]

In 2012, the innovative company Promwad became a partner of JTAG Technologies, a world leader in the development and supply of peripheral scanning tools (IEEE 1149.1 standard). In the summer of 2017, a partnership agreement was reached with a Chinese fabless chip manufacturer. Allwinner Promwad became its first and only Russian-language design center. Promwad also expanded its expertise and expertise in technology Bluetooth and BLE, becoming the official partner of the company from Telink. Shanghai Promwad continues to cooperate with the Taiwanese company, Realtek using its processors to develop network equipment: subscriber, routers access points, WiFi unmanaged and managed access switches.

History

2015: IoT Device and Application Creation Platform

The independent design center electronic engineers Promwad developed and announced in September 2015 its own hardware and software platform, which is designed to help reduce the costs and timing of designing new devices and applications for internet of things (,). Internet of Things IoT

The company offers to connect wearable electronics, mobile and multimedia devices, home electrical equipment, cars, as well as lighting and power supply systems for a smart home to the Internet of Things. The company's finished solution focuses on cloud technologies and interaction with a smartphone running Android or iOS. Thus, the mobile phone becomes a universal remote control for the user's personal network: it displays all the parameters of the connected devices, provides remote access and information exchange through cloud storage, the company said.

"We believe that the profitability of projects in the Internet of things will grow in the next 5-10 years. Today, world manufacturers of electronic components offer everything you need for this: highly sensitive sensors, microcontrollers with good performance parameters and ultra-low power consumption, - said Roman Pakholkov, head of Promwad. - Over the past few years, we have taken part in ten projects as part of this popular trend: from concept development to putting ready-made devices into mass production. Multimedia devices

Among the developments of Promwad in the field of multimedia are electronics for the "smart home";[10] consumer electronics (tablets and mobile PCs, set-top boxes {{[11]); electronics for advertising and entertainment (Digital Signage devices [12], 4D/5D movie theaters). Examples of developments in this area:

  • Media Stream multimedia player for public places (bars, restaurants, etc.). The device allows you to order and play licensed WMA music recordings. [13]

  • STMicroelectronics HD-chip-based set-top box: STi7167 processor-based device (broadcast in DVB-T format) and STi7105-based IPTV-set-top box (receive IP-flow via Ethernet network). [14]

  • Prototype video image recording device in JPEG2000 format based on debug board BF533 EZ-KIT Lite of Analog Devices under Linux operating system (writes video data in Motion JPEG2000 format to flash memory). [15]

  • A prototype smart home multimedia remote control with a 7.5 "color LCD screen based on a Cirrus Logic EP9307 processor running Linux (manages several devices included in the home network, displays the state of the connected devices). [16]

  • WiFi-ZigBee-USB Expansion Board for Analog Devices EZ-KIT BF533 (bundled with Embedded Linux BSP). [4]

Automotive electronics

In the field of auto electronics, Promwad engineers have implemented the following key projects:

  • Onboard car recorder - "black box" for a car - module for monitoring and diagnostics of the technical condition of the car. [17]
  • A car on-board computer designed by order of one of the leading European automakers. Main functions: navigation, CD-changer, technical diagnostics, voice control. [17]

  • Shturmann's automotive navigation and communication device based on Android with a 5-inch touch screen is designed for hands-free mobile communication, developing the optimal route and transferring data in 3G networks. Navigation is based on simultaneous operation of two positioning systems - GLONASS and GPS. [18]

Navigation devices

In the field of navigation electronics, specialists from the Promwad electronics design center specialize in the development of devices based on GPS and GLONASS technologies[17]. Among the designed devices:

  • A multi-purpose control panel for river vessels, it organizes movement, dynamic positioning and automatic mooring. The hardware platform is based on the GLONASS GPS navigation receiver. [17]

  • GPS compass "Returner." The device marks the current location of the user and allows you to return to the starting point along a direct or alternative route. [13]

Telecom/Datacom Electronics

Among the developed devices for data transmission and telecommunications are routers, plug computers and other devices. The most famous developments in this area were commissioned by AK-Systems and aimed at the SOHO segment:

  • The mini-server IP-Plug AK-Systems is the first plug-computer in Russia, it is designed to solve various problems in IP networks. The device is powered by Marvell Kirkwood (1 GHz) processor and Debian Linux, powered by a 220 V household network and low power consumption. [18][19]

  • Thin client AKT-1100 AK-Systems - a computer based on Marvell Sheeva processor (2 GHz) and Debian Linux 6.0 OS, uses various methods of information protection, is intended for use in the banking sector, retail sales, company offices, etc. [18]

Business culture

The corporate culture of the company is based on the motto "Promwad team - we rest and work together!" and is characterized by two areas of activity. The first is continuous staff development and investment in staff training. The company is an active participant in international conferences and seminars, Promwad specialists regularly give reports {[20][21], share the experience of implementing projects within the framework of contract development of electronics [22]and publish technical analytical articles in specialized publications. The second area of ​ ​ activity is the seasonal organization of sports events for lovers of outdoor activities (adventure races). [23]

Since 2010, Promwad employees have been participating in the annual Miss IT competition. [24][25]

Promwad is the founder and organizer of the annual Digital Electronics Developers Forum, DEDF (Digital Electronics Developers Forum).
