Novikombank upgraded DPC

On January 26, 2015 it became known of the project of AF ICL-KPO company on upgrade of a data processing center of Novikombank on the basis of modular architecture of APC InfraStruxure.

Project Tasks

Need to reorganize DPC arose at Novikombank as a result of business development - computing powers constantly increase and engineering infrastructure should correspond to tasks of bank. The existing cooling system coped with power density, but possibilities of its scaling appeared on the verge of exhaustion.

"The bank keeps up to date, increasing the number of the automated services. The main objective of project implementation - to provide the continuity of business processes, as much as possible to increase availability of bank services, to increase customer service quality. The DPC, certainly, is a key IT object of Novikombank. In it the main data arrays including especially service information are concentrated. Problems of a data processing center - to perform reliable storage and information transfer and also to ensure smooth operation of services of bank. Therefore the system allowing to avoid as much as possible idle times was selected", - Konstantin Komissarov, the director of DIT of Novikombank said.

Project Progress

At the heart of engineering infrastructure of DPC of Novikombank the system of containerization of APC EcoAisle air is used. A system from 12 cabinets of NetShelter SX and 3 intra line InRow RD conditioners helps to receive stable functioning switching and the IT equipment with a density of power of 8 kVA on a rack. Network interfaces of all equipment are united in the selected local network on the APC by Schneider Electric switches, and monitoring is performed by the StructureWare Central server with the set software of Data Center Expert.

Project Results

"We analyzed wishes of the customer and proposed optimal building block solution which will provide scalability of DPC. Feature of IT infrastructure of any bank is permanent increase in computing power of the server hardware that leads to growth of load of utilities - the option offered by us fully conforms to the stated requirements and allows to expand DPC without excess costs at each stage of implementation", - Eduard Tukhvatullin, the expert of AF ICL-KPO company noted.

The maximum settlement energy consumption of DPC of Novikombank is 120 kVA. For distribution and protection of power supply of an IT object the panel board equipment Schneider Electric and 2 uninterruptible power supply units of the 120 kVA MGE Galaxy 5500 with the scheme of reservation 2N are used. Conditioning of a zone of placement of the UPS is performed by the perimeter Uniflair Amico conditioner. Modularity of creation of engineering infrastructure provides installation of additional intra line and perimeter conditioners in case of growth of computing powers of the equipment of DPC.
