Revit Architecture 2016 is the application for design of buildings.

The Revit application gives an opportunity to architects and engineers - to solve the most difficult project tasks with high accuracy. In a software package a number of instruments of architectural design and construction which are created using BIM technology especially for certain workflows is implemented. Users will be able to analyze and make out project solutions with support at any stage: from development before release of a packet of working documents.

2020: Release of a plug-in BIM Electrical Design for Autodesk Revit

On February 5, 2020 the Schneider Electric company provided a plug-in BIM Electrical Design for the software package Autodesk Revit. BIM Electrical Design is a tool for quality improvement and the speed of design of electrical systems for any objects. Read more here.

2018: Requirements to the Revit families for compliance to BIM standard 2.0

The Autodesk company offered on April 23, 2018 participants of the construction market the management for creation of the Revit families — three-dimensional models of objects of which the project BIM model consists. This initiative will give advantages to producers of the different equipment and constructions, first of all due to emergence of an opportunity for promotion of the products through development of the families which are built in BIM models of construction objects and also will help to simplify work of architects and designers to whom development of families was by own efforts difficult, noted in the company.

According to the international practicians, use of BIM allows to reduce design terms by 20-30%. The plan of phased transition for information modeling adopted by the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Utilities of the Russian Federation is designed to provide use of this technology for the state order by 2020. Application of the general standards and use of ready families will help the Russian companies to reach high rates of efficiency and to remain competitive in new realities. In addition to strategic objectives, presence of the standardized families reduces work of own BIM command.

The document submitted by Autodesk contains the requirements list, shown to the Revit families which are described in "The guide to creation of the Autodesk Revit families" and other documents of BIM standard 2.0 to vulgar objects (building). In case of compliance of families to these requirements customers and/or developers of families can place them in a public access (on the website, on the portal, in the directory) with the Corresponds to BIM Standard 2.0 logo.

2015

The general BIM template is created

On July 27, 2015 the community of users of Autodesk announced an exit of BIM templates for sections of KM/KZh (construction metal and reinforced concrete structures), OB and BK (heating and ventilation, water supply and the sewerage).

For July 27, 2015 the unified templates are available to participants of the architectural and construction industry to all primary partitions of design on the basis of technology of information modeling.

"In Russia the BIM technology stops being the innovation and passes into discharge in large quantities applied, – Anastasia Morozova, the head of architecture and construction of Autodesk noted. – Earlier each enterprise independently created similar templates for work in Revit. Emergence of a uniform template accelerates implementation of BIM, facilitates data exchange and collective work on the basis of BIM model. The best experts of community who developed a template impart the knowledge and experience to all companies in the market both this unambiguously positive and significant event".

The template represents the Revit file in which basic backbone parameters of future information model are set: names of layers, thickness of lines, documentation release parameters in accordance with GOST and so on. A template - previously configured platform on the basis of which the specialist begins work on the project at the same time it can be improved during the work with specific tasks.

There was a version of Revit Architecture 2016

On May 27, 2015 the Autodesk company announced release of version 2016 of a software package for design[1].

In a system opportunities are available:

  • High performance which managed to be achieved decrease in resource intensity of the analysis of volume models. Besides, with the minimum requirements to memory it is possible to regenerate the big topographical surfaces, subareas and foundations of buildings.
  • Smooth and continuous navigation without need to wait each stage of zooming, rotation of a type or panning will be completed so far. It was succeeded to achieve the necessary effect that a part of elements is not displayed when moving on model.
  • Management of PDF is simplified that does faster file sharing. In case of export to this format there is an automatic binding of types and sheets. Any brands in PDF are issued as links. There is an opportunity to look at dependences that it considerably simplifies idea of behavior of projectible model. Each type allows to show dependence of the sizes and routes.
  • Thanks to visual programming environment work on the most difficult projects becomes simpler. The user will be able to create logic and to manage geometry or behavior of models. Installation of the graphical interface happens to the application at once.
  • It is possible to make changes on types of perspectives. Any amendments do without change of a type. For this purpose in the application the corresponding tools including the camera purposes allowing to redeem situation on a sight midfield are implemented. There is an opportunity to switch quickly to perspective and parallel representation of a three-dimensional type.
  • Work with cloud computing. In the application simultaneous access to model of several designers from different places is possible at once. For this purpose use cloud services of A360 Collaboration for Revit. Existence of such tool as Communicator, allows developers to communicate in real time. With a subscription of A360 Collaboration for Revit (users of North America) well working space of A360 Team.
  • The geometry of IFC can be used as a basis at accommodation of families of edges, the sizes, bindings, etc. To define borders of movements to models, it is necessary to select several IFC elements. For import, export or selection of the command Communication it is necessary to load the current version of IFC for Revit.
  • At architectural design the preliminary analysis of indicators of energy consumption is possible. The Project Solon dashboard which can be opened in the Results and Comparison dialog is for this purpose provided. The choice of parameters of families of any bearing components and also columns is possible. It is possible to define values of projections of loadings by separate parameter, to make the analysis of model and to make necessary actions for information exchange with applications of calculation of building constructions.
  • At design of model information exchange on design loads of steel connections is available to specialists. Designers will be able to report the relevant data to producers of steel products, having specified at the same time a number of parameters. The acquired information on internal efforts is easily transferred also to third-party applications.
  • Working on projects, it is possible to use a number of parameters in the Calculations menu that will increase performance and will reduce time of calculations for large projects. The corresponding parameters allow to block calculations of the systems of air ducts or pipelines at the level of a system. In particular for large fire extinguishing systems, it is easy for ventilation to turn off calculation of volume.
  • In the application it is possible to create models which are ready to the detailing. At the same time information from the corresponding Autodesk Fabrication applications (CADmep, ESTmep, CAMduct) is available. Determinations of connections are available to databases of producers and also the possibility of detailed management of determinations of a fitting, is provided by standard values of lengths of segments. As a result moderating and coordinating of any elements of the engineering systems becomes simpler.

The application gives opportunities of planning of building sites, formations of a relief directly in Revit. All solutions on a design of section can be transferred to engineers. In the application the Site Designer Extension expansion is started that allows to select the site planning as a part of the general model. During modeling creation of a number of objects, including roads, streets, parkings, etc. is available.
