Expocentre completed audit of program assets

On July 10, 2015 the Softline company announced project completion of SAM Baseline according to the complex analysis of use of the software of Microsoft in Expocentre company.

Project Tasks

Being the international exhibition operator, the company realizes an important role of use of the licensed software and aims at decrease in image risks. The SAM Baseline project in Expocentre it is caused by the aspiration of the customer to make sure of optimal use of software of Microsoft and also the need for cost optimization on licensing. For the exhibition company this program became the first stage SAM Services and a starting point for the following project stages.

As the contractor Expocentre selected Softline.

Audit tasks:

• assessment of a current status of contracts for the software of Microsoft;
• identification of the actual number of relevant licenses softwares of vendor;
• identification of exact number of the used software of Microsoft;
• preparation of recommendations about optimization of use of software and also decrease in legal and financial risks of use of software of Microsoft;
• the analysis of the operating legal and license risks.

Project Progress

During the project specialists of the contractor carried out inventory of all workstations. IT specialists of Expocentre actively participated in all project stages. After carrying out inventory by employees of the customer parallel verification according to the results of which works on permission of the revealed problems began was begun. The customer showed big interest in further use of SAM technology.

During the project information on the used software of Microsoft in the organization is obtained, the corresponding reports are created. Specialists of Softline provided recommendations about improvement of control over the operating software.

Project Results

According to the results of audit specialists of Softline prepared development plans for management of program assets and optimization of IT infrastructure of the customer. "Expocenter" expressed intention - to adhere to license policy taking into account the received results.
