Softline protected IT infrastructure of the Chumak enterprise

September 23, 2015. The Softline Ukraine company reported^[1] about project implementation on implementation of a complex of solutions of Symantec in an information network of Chumak manufacturing enterprise.

Goals and Objectives

The enterprise needed the reliable solution for increase in level of confidential information protection and secure access of users to network resources and also for security of virtual servers and workstations from the malware.

Choosing a Solution

As the partner of the project the Softline company which has the status Symantec Silver Partner in the territory of Ukraine was selected and proved as the highly skilled consultant in the field of information security. Specialists of Softline advised the customer to use two products for solving of tasks: Symantec Endpoint Protection and Backup Exec. These solutions easily provide protection of the major information on desktop computers, notebooks and servers. Flexible options of management allow to select an optimal method of protection of business without decline in production.

Result

In a project deliverable in an IT landscape of the customer 190 licenses Symantec Endpoint Protection and several sets of Backup Exec 15 were implemented. These solutions provided protection of infrastructure. Now the enterprise has an effective, flexible and convenient remedy of backup and recovery on any platform (virtual, physical or cloud) even after failure. In a project deliverable the customer received reliable resource protection from all types of cyberthreats.

We carefully approach questions of protection of internal IT infrastructure, selecting the solutions meeting international standards for these purposes" — Evgeny Enkov, the head of group of information technologies of JSC Chumak told.

"After carrying out the preproject analysis we drew a conclusion that tasks of the company could not be solved using simple anti-virus solution any more: it could not provide protection against the directed attacks and difficult steady threats any more. Counteraction to difficult threats requires multilevel protection and intellectual technologies of the analysis in endpoints. Therefore we proposed to the client the solution Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1.6 capable to provide the necessary level of protection using one multifunction agent. And the product Backup Exec 15 can qualitatively execute recovery of virtual machines, applications, databases, files, folders and separate subjects of applications" — Roman Podayev, the manager with key clients of Softline Ukraine company told.
