What problems were solved by the Ministry of Health of the Orenburg region upgrading IT infrastructure

On October 13, 2015 fat is known of the project of upgrade of IT infrastructure in the Ministry of Health of the Orenburg region. Integrator in the project the Softline Softline company^[1].

Project Tasks

The Ministry of Health of the Orenburg region develops and executes target programs for questions of protection of public health, will organize rendering preventive, medical and diagnostic, rehabilitation, specialized and hi-tech medical care, coordinates activity of medical institutions.

The number of the data processed in IT systems of the ministry constantly grew. Placement of services was required to provide the organizations, to organize remote desktops of employees. For permission of these of a task it was required to increase reliability, security and performance of the operating infrastructure in this connection the decision on its upgrade was made.

As the contractor of the project attracted Softline company. Specialists of the contractor analyzed the customer's infrastructure, studied requirements and tasks then they suggested to use hardware solutions of Netapp and Dell as foundation architecture - they became for the Ministry of Health optimal in terms of cost, flexibility, scalability, compatibility with virtualization platforms.

Project Progress

Within the project Softline supplied the equipment, mounted it, customized storage systems of Netapp E2700-R6 and two Dell PowerEdge R630 servers. The equipment was integrated into IT infrastructure of the customer and prepared for work.

As further the customer was going to use means of virtualization, within the project the solution Citrix XenDesktop Enterprise Edition is provided to him.

Project Results

"Thanks to Softline we managed to organize backup, to make migration of the database on new servers, to create the platform for delivery of desktops and applications. Then based on hardware solutions of Netapp and Dell our IT specialists constructed a failover cluster, deployed the services of the database and also started in work a terminal server for 1C and a file server. As a result infrastructure became more flexible and managed that allowed to reduce time of idle times and to optimize work of IT service", - Oleg Neudakhin, the head of department of automated control systems of the Ministry of Health of the Orenburg region said.
