2020: BCS Bank CIO
On June 29, 2020, BCS Bank informed TAdviser that Andrei Gorelov joined the bank's team to implement a long-term strategy to reorganize the IT structure. Andrei, who previously headed the IT direction of the European cluster of HSBC Bank LLC, took the post of director of information technology.
According to BCS Bank, it is planned to create a single digital center on the basis of the bank's IT divisions, which is expected to ensure a higher level of productivity and stability of technological processes. Andrei Gorelov will be responsible for the implementation of this approach.
For a long time, the speed of implementation of tasks was important for us, since we simultaneously launched four businesses at once - a digital retail bank, a bank for entrepreneurs Sphere, an electronic banking guarantee business and a corporate banking business. Therefore, three years ago, we decided to use a distributed, decentralized model with autonomous IT teams in each of the businesses. As of June 2020, when all these businesses are already implemented projects, stability and increased efficiency are important to us. In this regard, we decided to move to a hybrid model and strengthen the role of centralized IT. We will certainly maintain the management of backlogs and many resources in the context of individual businesses, but we will pay more attention to the unified methodology for organizing work, the quality management system and the organization of supporting the implemented functionality - commented Dmitry Peshnev-Podolsky, Chairman of the Board of BCS Bank. |
We are faced with the task of forming a development strategy for the next 2-3 years. During this time, we expect to bring existing processes to a higher level, identifying "bottlenecks" and using the best practices of world technological leaders to eliminate them. I believe that the goal of each bank is to collect and correctly apply the best team practices existing in fintech. This, as well as the correct motivation of employees, will help the Bank find various development options, "said Andrei Gorelov. |
