2023:4 years in prison for ex-head for embezzlement of 590 million rubles

In October 2023, the Basmanny Court of Moscow sentenced Sergei Lavrentiev, former general director of NKB Bank, to four years in prison for embezzlement of bank property. As of December 1, 2016, NKB ranked 527th in the country's banking system in terms of assets.

In December 2016, the Central Bank of the Russian Federation revoked the bank's license.

NKB, in case of unsatisfactory quality of assets, inadequately assessed the risks taken in connection with this. "NKB Design Bureau LLC did not comply with the requirements of the legislation in the field of combating the legalization (laundering) of proceeds from crime and the financing of terrorism in a timely manner to send information about operations subject to mandatory control to the authorized body," the Bank of Russia said.

In addition, the credit institution did not comply with the requirements of the order of the supervisory authority in terms of the introduced ban on individual banking operations, the Central Bank noted.
