2018: Migration in a cloud

On May 28, 2018 the Onlanta company announced the organization of IT infrastructure of retail network "Toy Store" based on own cloud service of OnCloud.ru for an information system of a business intelligence QlikView.

The project started on January 16, 2016. During the project specialists of Onlanta deployed the QlikView service in a cloud, carried out data migration and provided communication services. Also Onlanta performs the round-the-clock technical support of a system and administration of the equipment, the system software, monitoring and data backup.

QlikView supplements basic service of a business intelligence of retail SAP BW network "Toy Store" on HANA and allows to create the analytical reporting for acceptance of management decisions. Key staff of commercial department of the retailer and also other business divisions for whom daily reports in different cuts are necessary are connected to service of a business intelligence. Thanks to service it is possible to customize more flexibly all analytical system of Toy Store and to save resources during creation of reports.

IT infrastructure cost for QlikView in a cloud based on x86 is significantly lower than the solutions HANA. Transfer of service in a cloud of Onlanta company allowed Toy Store network to reduce expenses on IT infrastructure, monitoring and round-the-clock technical support of a system.

2015: Creation of a system of a business intelligence

The Toy Store group and Jet Infosystems company constructed the system of the business analysis and reporting on the QlikView platform in virtual DPC (VTsOD) of Jet Infosystems company. A system is unrolled on a failover cluster (the current configuration – 12 servers). A system processes in-memory large volumes of the data arriving from more than 380 outlets, a warehouse, a back office. Specially developed set of reports allows to analyze indicators of sales and commodity remaining balance in different cuts, to plan the range and purchasing amounts more effectively, to simplify process of obtaining information for negotiations with suppliers.

Support of operation of a system is performed in mode 24х7. The response time on failure of the most critical services does not exceed 15 minutes, and recovery time – 2 hours.

During QlikView operation the number of the created reports and users significantly increased, requirements to the power of the computing platform raised. The cluster configuration allowed to increase quickly a computing resource and to provide operational creation of reports for a great number of users. About 60 people at the same time can work with a system, at the same time high performance due to dynamic balancing of loading between cluster servers remains. In the same time Toy Store transferred automation of the main business processes to the accounting system – SAP ERP for Retail. The corporate storage SAP BW became the main source of data for an analysis system and the reporting of QlikView. Specialists of Jet Infosystems company migrated data from former storage and adapted models of the existing reports to logic of storage and data processing in SAP, to accounting policies. Besides, receiving mechanisms by the QlikView system of the additional sources given from a row, such as Oracle database working in foreign subsidiary, the cash server, the user Excel files were configured. Thanks to it a system obtains more complete data for the business analysis.

The full range of services from some hands – from debugging of the application software, creation and report settings – allowed Toy Store company to reduce costs to support of operation of a computing cluster and to receive a uniform point of responsibility for the end result.
